Making architectural mistakes is so cheap to fix nowadays; I'm amazed. This is the next step of agile: the short feedback loop continues after putting stuff in prod, because you can so quickly see when you didn't account for something and fix it.

Unrelated, but I have a lot of calls to "unsubscribe" in emails that are not in the subscription format. I assume it's to pass spam filters, or maybe it's an artifact of LLM writing more and more emails and thinking it's what you need to do. It can give really funky vibes...

You can't make that stuff up, they literally call their artificial SEO spam links "Natural links". I think the real bitter lesson of 2020 is that if you are doing something bad, you should call it the absolute opposite of what you are doing, with zero shame.

Thinking more and more about going through all the pictures on the blog and replacing the ones that scream AI, like the ones I use for laughs on the "what's up" articles. Many people have very strong anti-AI reactions and assume that the content will not be written by a human either.

What's all this noise about Jev? www.bitecode.dev/p/whats-all-this-n… Typesafe AI made a lot of noise by releasing a new model called Jev. Half of the community scream it's genius. The other half say it's overhyped. Let's have a look, and a little bit of Python, shall we?

Note that since then, the playing field has be leveled by the fact AI can do a lot of that for casual users. They have kinda of a expert at their disposal all the time. Right now most people are not using this at its maximum potential, but it is slowly changing.

The hard part for this kind of tool is to make the mobile experience not awful. I didn't say good, mind you, it's not possible. Writing code yourself on mobile sucks no matter what. But with some tweaks we can make it bearable. One of the tricks is to provide toolbars for hard-to-reach stuff:

Summary
Persistent widgets are embedded browsing contexts, like iframes, but they can persist across same-origin navigations without reloading. Persistent widgets can be used via the <persistentwidget> HTML element. The <persistentwidget> HTML element takes a src attribute, like an iframe. In order to make the <persistentwidget> survive a navigation, all of these conditions must be met: 1. The navigation must be to a same-origin document. 2. The <persistentwidget> element must have the same src and id HTML attributes in both documents. 3. The <persistentwidget> element must be attached to the new document before its first render.
