“I’m here to ask you to freeze the hiring of new school cops & reinvest those funds into actual support through more counselors, social workers & restorative justice programs.” Our students know what they need to succeed & are fiercely advocating to ensure NYC continues to fund these programs.

For months, we’ve been advocating to pass the New York for All Act, because our families and neighbors are suffering from Trumps’s mass deportation agenda and endless violence. NY can protect us from ICE’s overreach by passing #NY4All. Call your reps: win.newmode.net/ny4all

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. NY Legislators: protect immigrant communities at the state level by passing the New York for All Act! We cannot let state and local resources fuel family separation. #NY4All

As immigrants attending their court hearings continue being inhumanely abducted by ICE inside New York’s federal courts over the past week, NY elected officials spent the day escorting immigrants to and from their court hearings in an attempt to prevent further out-of-control detentions. 🧵

However, it is critical that such updates fully capture the needs of today’s students and account for the enormous variation in the cost of living across New York State. The @governor.ny.gov’s Executive Budget fails to meet this goal. That ain’t right!
