Very important tasks on the docket today. Must convince elected officials to help with academy of natural sciences preservation. Must run a livestream about hummingbirds wearing backpacks. Must find a drag queen to perform as a moth. Must draw 10 animals for upcoming book. Must maintain sanity.

Ya know, no matter what happens with the academy, one thing I'm noticing is that learning how to throw 3 rallies/marches in a month is building the muscle among our team that overlaps beautifully with throwing a science festival. Philly hasn't had one of those since pre-covid. Juuuust noticing.

Hello paleo folks! I need some help with an in-progress project involving the color swatches here. Specifically any geologic formations or subunits that include sediments of one or more of the colors below, and are of well-known paleo-importance. Anywhere on the planet! Thanks!

All of this is happening very fast. Less than one month of public notice was provided. To me, that looks like the decision-makers are trying to get this over with before the public or any outside entities can organize any funding or support.

It is unacceptable for a world-class city like ours to allow its major natural history museum to close. We cannot allow it. My statement ⬇️
The text of Senator Saval's statement on the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences museum. The words are in white on a blue background. Senator Saval's image is in the lower-right corner.

"For nearly two centuries, the museum of the The Academy of Natural Sciences has been the physical embodiment of a commitment to public natural history education. I was outraged to learn of the plans for its closure, both as a long-standing member of the museum and as an elected representative committed to the health and vitality of Philadelphia. It is unacceptable for a world-class city like ours to allow its major natural history museum to close.

The mismanagement of such a treasured asset is a profound insult to the residents of the city and to the incomparable workers and curators at the museum. We cannot allow it." The text of Senator Saval's statement on the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences museum. The words are in white on a blue background.

"This museum is a place where generation after generation first became enthralled with our world, and as we face the enormity of the climate crisis and an unprecedented loss of biodiversity, the continuation of the museum’s legacy of marvel and care for the natural world has never been more urgent. Partners from all levels of government must unite in our efforts to see this vital work continue."

Lives real long
Has a sword
Turns out he's a self-exiled Lord
Watch out!
Here comes the Strider-man!

Is he King? See here, bud.
He's got Númenorian blood.
Can he lead, the Dunharrow Dead
Without a crown upon his head?
With Andúril, yes he can!
There goes the Strider-man!In the midst of the fight,
On Weathertop’s crowned heights
Like Eärendil's light
He arrives just in time

Strider-man, Strider-man
Somber ranger Strider-man
Wealth and rule he’s ignored
Doing good is his reward
As Thorongil, he fought with Ecthelion
Now Elessar has united the lands of man
In Minas Tirith, and Annúminas
You’ll find King Strider-man
