Hell yeah. I've been (jokingly & lovingly) described as a "pathetic sap" with how often & easily my tears flow. Emotional video game?😭 Powerful piece of music?😭 Talented director pushes the "cry now" button in their movie?😭 Not to mention all of the 🥹,🥲,😢etc moments I experience every day.

Men it’s really fucking true. You need to cry. All humans do. That’s why no matter our gender we produce tears when we become emotional. Crying has nothing to do with gender identity. You can be perfectly strong & masculine & cry. So reclaim your humanity & let the tears out.

WHAAAA?!?! Are you telling me that wealth taxes just work? Next you'll be telling me that every pilot study of UBI shows that it just works. Or that giving homes to unhoused people just works. *someone whispers in my ear* OHHHH...

Anyone who sells you a tool that promises to outsource the work of your relationships, or the loving tasks of connecting to our friends and family, is someone who is trying to rob you of your own humanity. For god's sake. Say no to this. Say no to all of it.

#VideoGameOSTober (ran out of space for the hashtag) Also, wasn't sure "cover" meant the album cover art or someone else covering the song, so I included both.😅

Day 9, Favorite OST Cover: @supergiantgames.bsky.social - Bastion OST. -OR- Lindsey Stirling & Peter Hollins - Skyrim (youtu.be/BSLPH9d-jsI?...) Depending on the meaning of "cover".😅 The Kid with headphones is a simple idea, but executed beautifully. The Skyrim theme is epic, & LS & PH nail it!😎

Maybe it's because I turn off things like Motion Blur, maybe it's because I'm coming directly from playing & upgrading from the very graphically toned down Switch 1 version of the game, but to me the Switch 2 Remaster looks FANTASTIC. But, hey, if they're gonna make it look even better, cool!😎

Day 8, Favorite Overworld/Hub Theme: Mass Effect - The Wards This is another tough one because most games I play don't necessarily have distinct overworlds or hubs, but I hope the Citadel & specifically the Citadel Wards of Mass Effect 1 count. The Wards music is really good. #VideoGameOSTober

Day 7, Favorite Night Theme: Breath of the Wild - Riding (Night) This may be cheating a bit as it's a callback to day 4, but it's when riding your horse at night when you get that lilting piano & violin version of the Legend of Zelda main theme. I love it so much. 🥰 #VideoGameOSTober

Day 6, Favorite Town/City Theme - Guacamelee - Pueblucho This (and tomorrow's) category is difficult because I don't feel I play a lot of games where towns have particular themes, but then I remembered Guacamelee. Lots of fantastic music in the game, & I adore the vibe of Pueblucho's music.

I watched Luke Westaway play through Shadow of The Erd Tree, & he really showed how effective two-handing big swords plus guard countering could be. Reminded me of perfect guarding & stance breaking to deal punishment in Lies of P. 😎👍🏼

Alex Samaras (he/him) @bioalex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Since I'm "sword & shield"ing it with one-handing my Claymore, I really need to practice parrying more. I just get too worried about weather or not an opponent or particular attack is parryable that I wimp out on attempting. 😅 Though I also need to figure out guard counters.😅

Granted, I started the game playing the "naked and alone" class, so I had to build up from level 1. 😉

000

Alex Samaras (he/him) @bioalex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I don't know if I'm just bad & needed to over level to win, but I needed 20 levels of Vigor & all 6 Crimson Tears+3 I'd built up, plus my trusty Claymore+5 to do it, & it still took me like 5 attempts at that stage (not counting all previous attempts) to persevere. Freakin' hard ass "tutorial"😅

Alex Samaras (he/him) @bioalex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Margit is a tough fight. On the one hand, the fight is a good test of how well you've mastered the main ideas of playing Elden Ring before letting you progress. On the other hand it's such a hard & frustrating barrier. I won the fight getting both of us on our last hit w/ no more heals.😅

110

Alex Samaras (he/him) @bioalex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I largely ignored #EldenRing main game content for years until I could play the game myself, so I was not really aware of this. Apparently, it took me getting to level 34 & having a Claymore+5 just to get through the tutorial?!?!?!😱😭 I guess there's a lot if GUD I need to GIT!😜

One of the coolest (and most useful) things about the original MYST CD-ROM is that it came with a notebook in the box. Doing it digitally is a fantastic continuation of that legacy.😎👍🏼 *wishlisted* Steam showing macOS requirements means you are releasing a macOS port, right?🥹👉🏼👈🏼

Okay. Just played a bit more of #TheWitcher3 Remastered on #Nintendo #Switch2, & it is a HUGE improvement. Textures are much crisper, framerate is smooth, motion controls are nice. Very good! Bonus: after the free upgrade, I don't need to keep my original TW3 game cartridge in.
