Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Stale red light running in Calgary has become rampant in the last few years. But yes, radar the bikes on the pathway instead... 2223

Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Apparently the neighborhood has gone to shit. So say those that have lived here longer than others. That makes it factual right? 🫠 010
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 10/09/2026That would be really cool, but I think it would need a developer/landlord to be on board. Which could be hard to find. I’d settle for smaller retail bays instead of the big the ones that just cost too much to operate out of, and all we end up with are chains as a result. 220
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Have you seen them actually stop one of them yet? In the first week I noticed enforcement I only saw them pull over an e-unicycle rider. Every other time it has been an acoustic bike rider. 230

May his memory be a blessing. #yyc #yycheritage #heritageyyc 2318
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Same guy probably complains about lack of parking in the hood too. 010
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Yeah, but in this situation most cars were parked legally and on a street where over 90% of the homes have a garage...le sigh. 130
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Yes! I noticed the cilantro smell on that stretch last year. Only started smelling it again a week or two ago. Brings a smile to my face. 120

Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Yes, the barrier is done. That is a fact. Also, go ahead and do the river surf spot, the short term pathway pain will be worth gaining a unique attraction. 100
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026The barrier is done, everything now is landscaping/pathway work. 110
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Because it's a busy piece of pathway in the nice weather. Not sure what it was like at your time, but afternoons around 4pm it's messy and despite it being a separate lane I've witnessed plenty of mode mixing between it and the ped pathway next to it. 220
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026They were set up in those Olympic pillars, and speed checking to the east and west of that spot. It's a messy mixing area with all sorts around, even though it's a bike lane to the east of that spot I wouldn't be flying through there at certain times of day, just too busy and chaotic. 100
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026I know where they were, they've been set up there multiple times in the last couple of weeks. Saw them with at least one e-unicycle pulled over the one day. 330
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Yikes! I have often wondered what I would do riding around that area of the zoo in the early morning if by some chance I came face to face on the pathway with one of their resident bears. New fear unlocked? #yycbike 5122
Aaron @bigtimeyyc.bsky.social · 15/08/2026So this blew up on the bluesky algo. In addition to giant trucks we also have lots of great garage door murals in the neighbourhood. 2553

If you go to the Netherlands, everyone rides a bicycle, but they don’t wear shiny, tight alien trousers like normal cyclists. They just wear regular trousers, pedaling along completely upright, like a Victorian ghost floating to work. 517925
