Once again, I gotta say: you cannot treat anything you’re feeding into an AI as anonymous. There are enormous ethics implications for, e.g. referees who are clearly uploading others’ unpublished papers without consent, let alone health care professionals or law enforcement

Trying to do an interview early this morning, and was distracted by this adventurous fellow who decided to explore the balcony. We get lots of kangaroos on our front lawn, but they don't usually come up onto the house. I think he was dared to do it by the other roos.

Australia is at risk of losing its hard-fought herd immunity to measles, as a study finds 93.3% of the population are immune - just a whisker above the WHO herd-immunity threshold of 93%. The main reason is those born 1969-93 only received one dose of vaccine. www.bmj.com/content/394/...

I ❤️ bookshops so much. Walked into Gleebooks Blackheath for "possibly the wankiest thing I've ever asked for", which was the Emily Wilson translation of The Odyssey. Thus ensued a fascinating discussion with the bookseller about the relative merits of male v female translators of TO. Awesome.
