In 1976, the future leading light of psychedelic art, Alex Grey, worked at a Boston morgue. Years later, he described having sex with a corpse there as part of a piece he called Necrophilia. Then he recast what happened. I've profiled him on my Substack: matthabusby.substack.com/p/a-psychede...

A Psychedelic Saint’s Original Sin
Half a century ago, visionary artist Alex Grey committed an extraordinary violation in a Boston morgue and called it art. Then he became one of psychedelia’s most revered figures.

Hey film critic bluesky. Question re DIGGER. I've read about the big "twist" (never cared for spoilers) and am wondering whether those who have seen the film think it would be better engaged with by general auds if a little more context was given in the marketing?

Watch this if you think there is no such thing as original creative expression anymore. I know it's a reenactment of the music video but for some reason I find this live version more visually striking. Feel like my eyes are looking at patterns I've never seen before. Exceptional stuff.

Among the MANY interesting details revealed in this well-researched article, the thing that leaps out at me is the quite expansive way Griffin (and her ghostwriter Sam Lansky) explain how certain details of her story were intentionally omitted from the final book edit for structural reasons.

Can't vouch for the quality of the Mr Beast book but if I were editing this headline I'm not sure I'd lead with my book just from a popularity perspective. Having said that, eat shit Mr Beast! 😂😂

I understand our PM has to be respectful and reasonable in dealing with all foreign leaders that our country has relations with. What he doesn't have to do is post sycophantic selfies with racist idiots. This isn't politics, it's pathetic bootlicking.

Do not trust anyone who says politics should be kept out of music. They are either stupid or disingenuous. Music has ALWAYS been political, from the protest songs of the 60s to the emergence of punk and hip hop in the 80s. Even centuries old classical music served propogandic ends.

Fantastic scoop from Josh Hardman at Psychedelic Alpha. Is Arumaya going to be the commercial drug name for psilocybin? Add that to the speculation around Rysanso being the commercial name for MDMA and you've got your future prescriptions for psychedelic medicines.

First - hilarious factual error in this post from a big media outlet. 50 millilitres of medicinal cannabis hey? What does that even mean? Second - this is a weak policy that is designed to keep life easy for the police at the roadside rather than help cannabis patients.

If I had a bingo card filled with all the different rhetorical tricks people use to excuse taking a position on major issues then Ed Sheeran's recent statement would fill it immediately. It's a masterclass in cowardly evasion. I might disagree with her but at least Pink was honest about her stance

New data drop from Definium's phase 3 LSD for anxiety trial. This one is most interesting for its dose response data. Only the second dose response phase 3 read out after Compass. Here are the two readouts. Compass comparing 10mg of psilocybin against 25mg and Definium comparing 50mcg LSD to 100.

I still believe this narrative about a dangerous superintelligent AI is a conscious distraction perpetuated by AI companies as a way of distracting regulators and the general public from the real damage their technology is doing to society. This is how a tech oligarchy takes full control.

Paul Schrader has done some truly incredible work in his lifetime but when an 80 year old decides to make a "drug movie" after recently experiencing ayahuasca I dread the final outcome. Also, Schrader's recent embrace of AI filmmaking bodes poorly for the supposed "15 minutes of trip sequences" 😬😬
