So this morning I found myself behind a left-hand drive 'evaluation vehicle' SUV being road tested, all the badges taped over. And it absolutely dwarfed the BYD Sealion directly ahead of it. Vehicle bloat is beyond a joke. We're giving out roads over to giant man-babies in their giant toys.

The Reserve Bank raised the base interest rate by a modest 0.25% yesterday. But even modest moves carry outsized consequences for many.

The probability of an eventual wide-scale 'model collapse' of the internet, due to AI models training on AI-generated slop is low, but as @doctorow.pluralistic.net points out, never zero. It's kinda like the hill-climbing algo, but as a downward spiral. 😐

Pricey? “The Lectric XPedition2 costs $1,399 which is admittedly much more expensive than an entry-level non-electric bike.” You can’t get an EV in the US for less than $30k! Also, a decent non-electric bike will set you back at least $2k.

Yeah I get why this 4 Corners 'expose' on connected Chinese EVs might be a concern, but if you drive *any* car that's less than 10 years old, it's likely collecting telemetric data, as WIRED revealed years ago. European, Japanese, South Korean. It matters not. 🤷‍♂️

'Tail, film, heckle': Inside the Brethren's secret election influence plot with the far-right
Leaked messages reveal the full story of how the Exclusive Brethren secretly recruited neo-Nazi associates to harass MPs at the election. As the church denies it, one elder confirms his involvement.
By Sherryn Groch and Michael Bachelard
September 14, 2026 - 5.00am
From day one of the 2025 federal election campaign, the prime minister was being secretly tracked. When Anthony Albanese stepped up to speak at a press conference in Brisbane on March 29, a man was already lying in wait.
Albanese would later recall how someone suddenly
"stormed" through the press scrum, "yelling out all sorts of aggressive" things about immigration.
The man, who was quickly bundled out by security, was a far-right influencer named Laurence Mcintyre.
Only months earlier, McIntyre had been pictured alongside neo-Nazis at a white supremacist gathering in Melbourne, and chat logs reveal he also appeared in private neo-Nazi groups on Telegram.

Spot the difference. We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, & the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition. In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's progress. And we're not stopping there.
Graphic with the headline, “London’s cycle network is now five times larger than in 2016.” The upper map is labelled “BEFORE 2016” and shows London with a small number of bright green cycle routes concentrated around central London. The lower map is labelled “AFTER 2026” and shows London with many more bright green cycle routes extending across central and outer London.
