The painful thing is how those of us in the disability community predicted this outcome - both that ignoring COVID and taking no measures to restrict it's spread would lead to a massive increase in disability, and that those disabled would be blamed for their own conditions.

This screen and system either started its life as an insane directive handed over from market research or a much more ambitious (and expensive) design from someone genuinely invested in letting players properly cook as a means of immersion and connection. AAA is rough, man.

I saw a total of twenty people with masks throughout the day. Considering the unfathomable masses attending gamescom, even on the trade visitor day, that's a really, really low quota. (And to be clear: Of course, some people can't mask up for health reasons. But I'm sure that's not the issue here.)

Important for those planning to attend #gamescom while staying in Düsseldorf, Neuss or Dormagen: There's a train once per hour which I'm sure will be completely overcrowded, but... at least it's a train, not a replacement service bus.

One of them! Which means that we don't have to rely on bus shuttles only, but will probably still lead to overcrowded trains, especially because this one's only running once per hour. So I highly suggest to travel to Cologne very, very early each day to avoid the worst of it.

I may regret sharing this information, but: There's another train from Düsseldorf to Cologne (Deutz), which is not impacted by this absolutely mind-boggling decision, as it's taking another route. This will likely be the best option for those commuting between the two cities during gamescom.

I didn't spend months carefully adding thread by thread to this piece to create a beautifully-rendered embroidered image of a beetle just so you could tell me that AI is “inevitable”.

The new album is really good, I highly recommend it! Same goes for their concerts, I finally got to see them earlier this year and watching their passion and joy on stage alone would have been worth the ticket, but they're actually a great live band, too.
