So excited to see our new bike lane growing! And fab that we have safer, longer-lastig kerbside instead of just wands. #SaferGreenerHappier

Toxic air death estimates in London drop by 40%, study suggests 🥳🥳 "This latest data shows why expanding Ulez London-wide was even more important than we previously thought - and is transforming lives right across our capital." #SaferGreenerHappier... and much healthier streets, too!

Continuous paving at junctions is a visual reminder of the pedestrian priority demanded by the Highway Code. We're so excited to see our local streets getting #SaferGreenerHappier!

Our community has voted overwhelmingly in favour of #SaferGreenerHappier streets – what a brilliant mandate for new West Dulwich councillors Tom Palmer (Green) and Judith Cavanagh (Labour).
Pie chart showing vote share of 6,445 votes for parties that supported the Healthy Route at local hustings (over 3/4 of the pie, in green) and 1,481 votes for others (smaller slice, yellow hatching).

Incredible vibes at this morning's #BikeBus and a deafeningly loud, wonderfully joyful community call for our #BikeLane and #HealthyRoute - these kids deserve a safe route to school.

It was fantastic to see so much community support for #SaferGreenerHappier streets today. Bike lanes, zebra crossings, protected sight lines, enforced pedestrian priority, and loading bays for local businesses: our Healthy Route is under threat and we won't stop fighting for it.
A crowd of people (children and adults) smiling and shouting. Many are wearing zebra masks and some children are wearing zebra onesies. A protest sign in a child's writing reads 'I heart zebra crossings".

This signage has become popular in the UK.

It's nearly #NoMowMay - can you set aside a space for wildlife? Put away the mower and have a cuppa instead. No garden? No problem! Start a community meadow; talk to your neighbours, schools, places of worship, or councillors; or put out a pot to make a bee bus stop! #SaferGreenerHappier

"61% of motorists admitted breaking the 30mph limit in the past year, with nearly half saying they had driven between 31 and 40mph in a 30mph area." Just a breathtaking lack of consideration for cyclists, pedestrians and other road users from selfish drivers. We want #SaferGreenerHappier streets.

Better Streets West Dulwich is appalled to hear that our long-awaited bike lane is under threat from yet another legal challenge by WDAG.

It's clear by now that this is not a community spirited group acting in good faith but a small group of well-funded individuals determined to use whatever means they can to obstruct democratically mandated improvements to the local community.

These schemes are designed to reduce road danger, protect the lives of vulnerable road users, and increase the resilience of our local area to the threat of climate change. We are simply asking for a safer, greener Lambeth, something which should not be remotely controversial.

We call on Lambeth council to have the courage of its convictions and stick up for the huge numbers of pedestrians, cyclists, children and families who have campaigned for and will undoubtedly benefit from these investments in sustainable infrastructure in our local area.

The black car has been parked outside the shops on Rosendale Rd, unmoved for about a year 😔 The larger white van has parked illegally in the middle of the road, forcing the other into oncoming traffic 😔 But apparently parking controls are bad for business and don't help with road safety. Hmm ... 🤔

How do LTNs reduce road danger 🤔 Stopping rat runs vastly reduces huge volumes of traffic making turns across uncontrolled junctions and heavily used active travel routes. Such as the continuous footways and cycle route shown here on Dalmore Rd / A205. Let's reduce road danger and save lives 💚

I’ve campaigned alongside Roadpeace for many years. Their work supporting bereaved families and seriously injured victims of collisions on the road is essential, especially as the numbers of people still being killed and injured each year is devastatingly high.

Yesterday I spend an inhuman amount of time on the 205 bus mostly because drivers are allowed to park in the bus lane. Why? The biggest single thing TfL/LAs could do for bus times is London-wide removal of all parking in bus lanes.
