Based on the candidates currently ahead, we’re on track for a huge increase in the percentage of women in the House of Reps in the 48th Parliament. Currently women are ahead in 70 of 150 seats, which would mean 46.7% women, up from 38.4% after the last election. #insiders #auspol

It's all driven by poor internal party considerations IMO. Party leader Georges-Louis Bouchez is a very divisive figure and getting Reynders (or Michel) closer to the domestic arena looks like a move to pave for the party's future.
