Our Mini Mini Golf Golf took about a year for people to find. Our second year saw much more engagement than our first. But then again, we aren't a hidden gem, more like a buried one 😅

Fandom plus nostalgia also makes fans of even the most progressive series become incredibly conservative about it. (Doctor Who or Christianity, for instance)

Option of sleek, dark and with some kind of finial on the front. It's motorised, but it needn't be sporty.

the reason “AI will create so much abundance we will have a utopian society” rhetoric falls so flat is that the people building it will never, ever share their bounty unless it is taken from them and we all know it

One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.

My immediate thought is 'but what if I like this filler, and it reveals character and enriches the experience and has a delightful interaction or two in it', but in that case it's probably not just filler.

Glad to see the Melbourne Queer Games Festival is back this year. The showcase list is out, and I look forward to delving into many of these games. (Trans Theft Horso is on the list, but I've played that already, having begotten it some while ago): mqgf.com.au/2026/showcase/

There is something astonishingly serious about a lot of 20th Century Star Trek. Morality plays in which the ethical lesson is reiterated at the end. In this regard, it's a lot like Scrubs.

Your games hook is "why would someone want to play this?", not (by default) its USP It's the thing that in a 6-second trailer makes people go "oooh I want to know more". If you can't articulate that, then you're going to struggle to find what makes the game interesting to the average person

Might start referring to the airport as 'the port' to make my voyages sound more romantic. I must away to the port at Mamucium where a berth awaits me. It will carry me o'er the waves to Colonia Agrippina. No, I don't know which era I'm aiming for, but I feel like it'll annoy everyone.
