Absolutely stunning/horrifying to see a 5th measles death in PA. This means the outbreak is probably far higher than numbers count, seeing as roughly 1-3 people die per 1,000. Many people aren't being tested. Also: I'm going to states now for info, not the CDC* app.powerbigov.us/view?r=eyJrI...

Unclear and inconsistent U.S. immigration policies mean that children with immigrant parents are effectively locked out of the healthcare systems they are entitled to, APHA Executive Board Member Cynthia N. Lebron, Ph.D., M.P.H., explains: vist.ly/5kpg3
An image with a gradient from blue to orange has a quote in white text that says, "For families across the United States with immigrant parents, there’s one more calculation most Americans never have to make: Will taking my child to the doctor put someone I love at risk of losing their chance to stay in this country?" Beneath the quote is the author's name, Cynthia N. Lebron, Ph.D., M.P.H., Assistant Professor, University of Miami; Executive Board Member, American Public Health Association. In the bottom right it says, "Read more about Future of Healthy Living at FutureOfPersonalHealth.com"

This is quite the graph from a new retrospective cohort study in Neurology: “In conclusion, football is the leading cause of sports-related traumatic brain injury in children and young adults, and its risks are amplified by institutional promotion despite decades of accumulating evidence of harm.”
Figure one: age breakdown of traumatic brain injuries by activity. The graph clearly shows that American tackle football has the highest number of traumatic brain injuries.

Of course @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social has the most interesting review of the MAHA Summit. She asks who organized the event, who attended, and where the money goes. Kennedy likes to keep his grift in the family. Zadrozny notes: "Finn was the summit’s first speaker." www.ms.now/news/maha-su...
If the divergent, often competing pet interests of the activists within MAHA made the movement hard to define, the structure behind the business of MAHA is murkier still. The summit was presented by MAHA Center, a nonprofit helmed by Tony Lyons, publisher of Kennedy’s books and other contrarian works. Lyons also runs MAHA Action, a separate nonprofit, and MAHA PAC, the rebranded super PAC that bankrolled Kennedy’s presidential bid and is now backing Republican candidates in the midterms. Tickets to the summit went to “MAHA members” who enrolled at the $6,000-a-year tier — a membership advertised and presented by Lyons’ MAHA Action but whose agreement is with MAHA Holdings, a separate entity with no public-facing website, about which little is known beyond its CEO, former tech entrepreneur Alex Hardy, and one board member: Kennedy’s 29-year-old son, Finn.

The word "supporter" here is a doing a lot of masking. Tony Lyons is RFK Jr's publisher at Skyhorse. He co-founded the PAC for Kennedy's presidential campaign. He raises money for Kennedy. Does his PR (eg Super Bowl ad). He's in bz with Kennedy. Co-grifters. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/29/h...
Mr. Kennedy’s supporters, including Tony Lyons, who oversees a constellation of MAHA-themed nonprofits, including the one that organized the summit, defended the secretary. The MAHA Center, which hosted the summit, said on its website that it did not “coordinate with any government entity” in planning the event.

Research graphic from the Rutgers School of Public Health titled "Perinatal Depression and Infant Mortality." Quote from Rebecca Woofter, PhD, MPH, postdoctoral associate and lead author: "We found an association between maternal depressive symptoms and infant mortality across many different groups of mothers and infants. These findings don't mean that maternal depression is causing infant deaths, but it does tell us there is an important relationship here that we need to understand much better." Background photo: hands resting on a pregnant belly.Key findings from more than 414,000 New Jersey births from 2016 through 2020, linked with infant death records through 2021. First: 7.2 versus 2 infant deaths per 1,000 births when mothers reported depressive symptoms versus when they didn't. Second: A consistent pattern. The association appeared across many different groups of mothers and infants.
