Just finished the resident evil movie. Very very good. Absolutely enthralled that someone made a video game movie that was much less about being “lore accurate” as it was about translating the spirit, themes, and messages of said game. 10/10. Can’t think of a bad thing to say about it.

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave feels like the best Fire Emblem on a technical level. On a technical level, it's a masterpiece. It still feels like it shed some of the whimsy and fairy tale vibes of Three Houses or Fates. Depending on who you are, this is either a positive or negative.

It’s hard to explain how Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave might just be too much of a good thing. (What a bizarre complaint) Everything leads to several minutes of voice acting. Every chapter introduces new mechanics. Almost 80 recruitable characters. A game crafted in Hell’s Irony Department.

Ten minutes into Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave and my impression so far is: Oh, they EMBARGOED embargoed what journalists could say about this. It’s already stock full of things any critic would be dying to talk about, and I have to imagine they were told at gunpoint they could not.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave costs $70 for the digital copy. It costs $80 plus tax for the digital copy, totaling about $87. Physically owning your media is now a luxury that adds almost $20 to the bill. 😭
