Thing is, the one Duran threw was a lot more like a sinker than a true four-seam. 14" arm-side, 8" IVB. Against 95+ but with IVB under 10 this year, Riley was a monster: .345/.621. His problems with heaters tended much more to be about getting underneath than being late. No room underneath 8 IVB.
