Photos from a walk around the Swindon Oasis. The iconic leisure centre closed in 2020 and has been left to decay. Plans to restore it stalled after housing proposals were refused. The domed pool and gig hall once made it a key venue. It’s sad. we need facilities.

The first draft / design of a new zine. I have a few little tweaks to make and then I’ll make a limited print run. The photographs document my walks around the local town.

Just finished with 2 months of commuting to Madrid weekly for work, way too busy with focusing on the day job and didn't take many photos. Here's a few photos from the first week, taken while I still had some mental energy and the exhaustion from travel + work didn't take hold of me.

Austerity from 2010 dismantled the social contrast and laid the groundwork for Brexit and the shit show that followed - I dread to think where we'll in 5 or so years time.

No 2 from a project where I ask people what advice they would give to their younger self. My ambition is to reach as many groups and communities as possible in Swindon, to build a Portrait of Swindon Are you local and want to take part? Get in touch
black-and-white photograph captures a person standing in front of a wall with a repetitive pattern of rectangular openings. They are dressed in a coat, scarf, leggings, and boots, with their face intentionally blurred for anonymity. The ground is paved, and the wall serves as a striking geometric backdrop. At the bottom of the image, text reads: "Worry less" followed by "Documenting.Swindon" and "A Portrait of Swindon."

A black and white photograph shows a person standing in front of a graffiti-covered wall. The person's upper body is obscured by a blurred rectangle. The graffiti features various designs, including a cartoonish dinosaur with sharp teeth and a heart shape. The person is holding an umbrella, which touches the ground. Below the image, there is text that reads: "Not to sell my first house." The bottom left corner has the text "Documenting.Swindon," and the bottom right corner reads "A Portrait of Swindon."

A couple photos taken just down the road in Bath while coming out of the lockdowns - seems so long ago now
The image shows the entrance to "The Roman Baths Kitchen," a restaurant with a classical architectural style featuring ornate columns and arches. Two people are sitting on the steps in front of the entrance, one on the left and one on the right, both engaged in different activities. The building has large windows above the entrance and intricate decorative elements on the facade. The image shows a park scene with several people sitting on the grass in small groups, enjoying the outdoors. In the foreground, there is a stone balustrade with a large stone planter on top. A person with curly hair and wearing a brown jacket and backpack is walking past the balustrade. The shadows of the balustrade and the person are cast on the stone surface. The background features a well-maintained lawn, pathways, and trees. The image captures a peaceful and sunny day in a public park.

A street scene with a modern brick building in the background. The building has large windows and a facade made of red and brown bricks. In front of the building, there is a construction barrier made of white and blue panels. Several people are walking on the sidewalk, and there is a wooden bench in the foreground. The image captures an urban environment with ongoing construction or renovation work"A storefront with large 'Closing Down Sale' signs prominently displayed on the glass windows. The store is having a significant sale, with additional signs indicating 'SAVE 50%' and 'EVERYTHING MUST GO.' Various items, including luggage and household goods, are visible through the windows. A person stands outside the store, looking at the display, suggesting the store is going out of business and trying to clear its inventory.""A brick wall with a shadow cast on it, creating a distinct shape. There is a small white sign on the wall that reads 'MARKET STREET.' The ground in front of the wall is paved with red and gray bricks. The shadow appears to be from a structure with a pointed top, possibly a street lamp or similar object.""A person is walking on a sidewalk next to a wooden construction barrier. The person is wearing a mask and carrying a backpack. There is a black pole and a tree in the foreground. A sign on the wooden barrier reads 'Keep out.' In the background, there is a building with a sign that says 'OPTICIANS CONTACT LENSES.' The image captures a moment of urban life, highlighting construction activity and safety measures, such as the 'Keep out' sign and the person wearing a mask."

Cotswold Wildlife Park back in the spring #streetphotography #ThePhotoHour
Two people are standing in front of a large glass window, looking out at a lush, green outdoor area. The scene appears to be set in a zoo or a nature reserve, with dense foliage and trees visible through the glass. The sky is partly cloudy, with patches of blue visible. The individuals are dressed casually, with one person wearing a yellow top and the other in a light-colored top. The setting suggests they are observing animals or enjoying the natural scenery. The image shows a group of people standing on an elevated platform inside an indoor giraffe enclosure. The people are observing and interacting with the giraffes, with one person appearing to feed a giraffe from a container filled with hay. The giraffes are in a spacious, well-lit area with high ceilings and large windows. The scene highlights close interaction between humans and giraffes in a controlled environment, likely for educational or conservation purposes.

I saw this scene while walking somewhere specific to get some photos for a mini project - suffice to say this was more interesting than my intended photo #photography #ThePhotoHour
A brick house with white-framed windows and a white-framed glass door is shown. The house has two stories, with three windows on the upper floor and two windows and a glass door on the lower floor. Shadows of tree branches are cast on the house's facade. In the foreground, there is a small garden area with a wooden bench, a metal table, and several chairs. There are also various potted plants and a bird feeder attached to the wall. The scene is lit by sunlight, creating a contrast between light and shadow.

A black and white photograph shows a person standing on a grassy hill with a camera hanging from the neck. The person is wearing a jacket and jeans. In the background, there is a lone tree with a distinctive shape, and the landscape stretches out into the distance.

This image captures a moment of solitude in nature, with the lone tree adding a unique and picturesque element to the scene. The presence of the camera suggests an interest in photography or documenting the beauty of the surroundings. The black and white format enhances the timeless and serene atmosphere.
