Bitten 🥀🩸 One of my favourite vampire illustrations I’ve painted to start off spooky month! ♥️🦇🩸

My illustration of original characters of a vampire gently holding and biting her beloved victim, who is wearing a beautiful white lace dress. They look like they’re innocently dancing or in a romantic embrace on a moonlit night.

This does seem like an accident waiting to happen, right?

A pack of 30 individually wrapped Play-Doh. The Play-Doh is formed into rectangular bars in clear plastic wrapping surrounded by ghosts, skulls, bats and other Halloweeny images.

If the grocery store in my town I didn't use because I disliked it had a workers strike and boycotted, I can't feel self-righteous unless I'm helping the strikers. Not for just doing what I was already doing.

Were the reason you didn't like it because the author was transphobic and funded transphobia? Because if it was that you didn't like the characters or story decisions. That's kinda irrelevant. And the self-righteousness is also the real downside of this.

I was thinking about this and landed on, "It's like feeling self righteous about boycotting a store you never shopped at." And that's an understatement.

One of last year's pride palette commissions for @medusagayze.bsky.social ! Best girl and one of my personal favs, Samus Aran.

Art of Samus Aran from Metroid drawn in the colors of the trans and lesbian pride flags. She stands at the ready on a windswept plane with a small blue and pink metroid floating beside her. #art #metroid #samusaran 🖌️

If I was trying to fix it I might move Shakra closer, before the clawline check, so she can explain or give a hint that this is a speed/platform challenge.

It was only when I wondered, "Gosh, where's the thing for cold? I'm just not finding it." and I looked it up and learned what I had to do. People made fun of David Jaffe struggling with Metroid Dread but this is the kind of thing that I think he was struggling with. There's no easy fix.

This is one of the things that I think makes Metroidvania'd hard to design. When you come to a challenge sometimes you need a new tool but other times it's a skill check and it isn't always obvious which is which. Mount Fay is actually a platforming challenge where you rush between warm spots.

Bell 🔔 @bellpei.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I'm playing Silksong again and I reminded myself of a problem I had on my first playthrough. I avoided going to Mount Fay for a long time. I walked on and saw I was taking damage because it was cold and figured, "Oh, I'll get the varia suit equivalent and come back. That item is on Mount Fay.
