The SAVE Act is voter suppression. Over 900K Oregon women whose name doesn't match their birth certificate could be ineligible to vote. 45.1% of Oregonians without a passport could have to pay over $236M just to register. I didn't just vote 'No' – I intro'd a bill that makes it easier to vote.

The UK got demonstrably tired of wrangling about Brexit - so much so that even now no politician wants to take it on - & certainly not one from the governing party. Yet it continues to harm endlessly. Democracy is difficult but empty slogans & easy answers have disastrous consequences.

But in the past 48 hours, Donald Trump has just given us a pitch-perfect demonstration of why legislatures are necessary, why checks and balances are useful, and why most one-man dictatorships become poor and corrupt.
If the Republican Party does not return

Department of Homeland Security agents were denied entry into two South Los Angeles elementary schools earlier this week, according to a district spokesperson.

The incidents happened on Monday at Lillian Elementary School and Russell Elementary School. A message sent to the community attending both schools stated that the agents "identified themselves as representatives of a federal agency" before administrators turned them away.
