With our kids now #BackToSchool, never forget that we ARE the traffic that we’re afraid of. If more kids walked, biked or rode transit to school, it would erase a LOT of car trips each day, and our kids would be safer, healthier and better at school as a result. HT Ian Lockwood. Spread the word.
Cartoon of a mom and dad with a kid in front of a minivan. The parents are saying “there is too much traffic for Billy to walk to school, so we drive him.” The caption at the bottom says “traffic inducing traffic.” Let kids walk and bike to school, and tell your leaders to make that trip safe and enjoyable for kids and families. #LetKidsWalk #LetKidsBike

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
The famous Copenhagen shopping street where it opens up into a triangular public place and gathering place, filled with people.

Proportional representation is talked about a lot, but how would this actually work in Canada? See our breakdown here. Single Transferable Vote (STV) fills seats using ranked ballots. Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) pairs local candidates with regional top up seats so every vote counts.
Title slide reading "MAKING CANADIAN ELECTIONS FAIR: Understanding Single Transferable Vote (STV) & Open-List Regional Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP)". Includes a vote graphic pointing to a pie chart of people, with a "LEARN MORE" button.Graphic explaining Single Transferable Vote (STV), a proportional system using ranked ballots in multi member ridings electing 3 to 7 members. Diagrams show voters ranking candidates, votes transferring to fill quotas, and seats filled fairly.Graphic explaining Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP), a two-ballot system combining local representation with regional proportionality. Diagrams show Vote 1 for local candidates and Vote 2 for open regional list top up seats to ensure fair results.Comparison slide titled "TWO PATHS. ONE GOAL. A Fairer, More Representative Canada."
