Yes, I think I saw that somewhere. Another great Brexit benefit.

Great story, this. I mean, the guy left his family in the lurch, but who hadn’t dreamed of walking or swimming all the way around the world, by themselves?

Not sure, tbh. I suspect in any event that we won’t have much wriggle room in January, bar a loan or two. Need to make the most of what we have. Let’s hope MJ is fit by Christmas.

And, tbh, I’d be happy with a draw to arrest the slide. Need to win. Ext Saturday, though.

Bring Price back on the left. Campbell in for Phillips. Give Stewart a go up top (maybe even bench Morgan, who looked a bit lost on Saturday). NZing, Whitwell, Collyer, Diakite (maybe Molumby, as OD looked tired) Price. Work on getting behind Wrexham back line & creating chances from there.

Was frustrating. Two good chances in the first half, then nothing after half time. I thought we defended ok until the pen, which was a bit soft, and Blues didn’t threaten too much after h-t. We need better ideas going forward, and better strikers. MJ is a big miss.

Happy birthday! Hope you can celebrate with a Leeds win today.

Difficult to say. Depends on our financial resources, and how well they manage them. In theory, I’m sure they would want to.

I agree we are struggling in that department, and the loan idea for Barney seems sensible if we can get someone decent in in January. I suspect he’ll start Hegg with Barney still on the bench, maybe to start against Wrexham if he does any good when he comes on after 60 minutes on Saturday.

Started listening this morning. Early Bee Gees were part of the background of my early teens, and I was never that into them, but I found myself remembering the words to nearly all their singles, (including Jumbo…) and recalling situations, places where I once heard them. Another cracking episode!

Yep. Meaningless international games most oftentimes when you gradually discover which Albion players have got injured, and nowt to do on Satdees. I even mowed the lawn this afternoon, ffs.

That’s a very good example of what I meant!

Beestonbaggie @beestonbaggie.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I suspect it’s both. It’s still too comfortable for many in the west, they’d have to give up too much to really start to solve the problems.

Thanks for this thread, on this day. It’s a pity that more people, leaders and politicians especially, don’t have this insight.

What programme are you talking about? Is it a new historical drama? A sequel to Wolf Hall?

Lovely. There’s a surprising amount of late growth in gardens at the moment.

Superb. I’m very happy that you countered the anti-German nonsense with (believe it or not) first hand evidence. What a great journey you had, and what excellent comment you have delivered.

We seem to have arrived at a situation in which, globally, we have a class of people who believe they are entitled to govern us, no matter how corrupt, hypocritical or completely incompetent they may be. A new class of would-be ‘born to rule’-ers.

I did a few years ago, for a couple of years. Plenty of good fillums on it. I only stopped subscribing because I’d got out of the habit of using it. How much does it cost these days? Used to be a fiver a month.

There was always something kind of empty about him, I felt. All surface niceness but nothing of any substance underneath. Perfect for the entertainment industry these days.
