We have tickets for the Maryland Renaissance Festival this Sunday. Hoping the rain will hold off...I ain't dealing with no mud pit.

The taxi we took back from Dulles misspelled the name of the company on the receipt. "Washington Flayers" is definitely a more badass name.

We have a 30 year old bread machine too! I believe it is a 1997 model...still has the original stickers on it. Nam occasionally makes bread in it.

Last time I rented a car, hey, surprise, we upgraded you to a SUV! No! I emphasized that very thoroughly. I do not want an SUV. I drive a small car. I want a small car. The agent was appalled but gave me a small car.

I've been mostly on "write only" mode on social media this week, choosing to enjoy my time in Europe and with Nam. On my way home now and think I might extend my time not staring at my phone...

Delayed by almost 90 minutes on the ground in Amsterdam but at least we're on the way now.

Another @samer.is recommendation: Dutch Courage in Amsterdam. Really enjoying it.

At a good beer bar in Amsterdam. Just listened to a group from the UK unable to decide on what they want or completely understand they only carry Dutch beer here. Then despite the bartender asking them not to, they used AI to order, just to have it make up fake facts about the beers.

Now, to be fair, Hanabie is delicious and wagamama...is a place.

Today was a walking tour of Brussels topped off with a trip to Fritland for fries and sausage.

For having to pay for it, United's WiFi on this flight has been fairly ass.

Thanks! Obviously it ain't metallic or the metal detector would've gotten me. And it's not my belt. No idea.

Dude at the bar is looking incredibly more hammered as he does shots, bloodies, beers, etc, and yet the impeccably coiffed woman next to him - that he met here - is matching him drink for drink, flirting with him, etc. This is hysterical.

Now, I got lucky in security. I get flagged 90+% of the time going through the scanner because of my crotch (LOL) but today I got waved through the regular ole metal detector.

BTW, Dulles was stupid efficient today even with the train issues. United bag check took less than five minutes as did regular security (I don't use CLEAR when I'm with Nam but I can't imagine how it would have sped things up). The train took a couple of minutes but the Chef Geoff's wasn't busy.

Off to Brussels and Amsterdam! We've decided to skip going to Bruges so we have more time in Brussels.

Yikes, no shaking drinks? I'd be without my crunchy Manhattans!
