Hey, Republicans! You know what would really make Elon Musk super mad? If you restored science funding, foreign aid, and thousands of government jobs. He’d be so owned.

Some of y'all can't handle 2 high agency males going at it and it really shows
TOS scene. We're outdoors in an arena of some kind with old rocky columns and artifacts surrounding an open dirt area designed for some kind of event or show. A sky colored red lends itself to the passion on display. In the middle, Spock and Kirk are laying on the ground together, Kirk on top, Spock on the bottom, thier bodies intertwined. A love that dareth not speaketh it's name. No caption.

This gets the story wrong on a fundamental level because it assumes DOGE was about what Musk claimed. DOGE was about stealing data, getting Musk contracts, shutting down investigations and regulations of Musk’s companies, and terrorizing federal workers. On that front, it succeeded.

I always think of this when someone says they do everything with AI now
Google search for “bees in my computer”, yielding the “AI Overview” of “Bees can be present in desktop computers built after the mid-2000s, but only at a microscopic level. These bees are a special breed of Apis Arithmeticam that perform basic computations in the CPU.”

(This was a few months ago, I think they fixed it.)

Surely we all know that Trump’s life-long grifting was why he was recruited by authoritarians to run the country. Self-interest is his only principle and they showed him how their governance scheme could work for him.

DOGE took control of the FAA, fired hundreds of air traffic employees—and then our air traffic control system mysteriously started shitting itself. Probably just a coincidence!

I reckon if you've been a writer for 15 years and you can comfortably replace part of your process with ChatGPT, it speaks volumes about your writing

Nah.

I’ve been a professional writer for 15 years and AI has allowed me to amplify my productivity and leverage my creativity to create something better than I or AI could have on our own.

The thing is you can’t just outsource your brain to it. There’s an effective way to use AI and a lazy way to use it. The thing is, that genie isn’t going back in the bottle, so adapt or die.

I think that it is deeply irresponsible for tech publications to obfuscate agency around AI systems in this way. A chat bot owned and controlled by a promoter of the white genocide conspiracy theory is promoting the white genocide theory. There’s no “can’t stop” about it.

Worth noting Trump's popularity is cratering but the vast majority of people still have not felt much, if any, impact from tariffs. Same for DOGE; systems are cracking but lumbering along on the resilience built into them, which is deteriorating. The storm isn't even here yet.

The only appropriate response to this is impeachment and removal from office. Every moment the political press spends spinning out theories about 2026 and immigration polling is a minute they are not spending asking Republicans in Congress about their plans to enforce the rule of law
A screenshot of a tweet by the official White House account.

Text: “Fixed it for you, @NYTimes.
Oh, and by the way, @ChrisVanHollen - he's NOT coming back.”

There is also a screenshot of the front page of the NyT with a large headline and photo about Van Hollen meeting with Abrego Garcia. They have edited the headline with red ink handwriting to say “ Senator meets with deported ms-13 illegal alien in El Salvador who’s never coming back.”
