I love that May Day is on a Friday so we can appreciate the weekend directly afterwords. And we don’t need to do this again. Yet. #mayday #iwd
A statue commemorating the Haymarket Riots in Chicago on May 4, 1886. The haymarket riots began when workers were rallying for their rights (safe working conditions, fair pay, weekends) after police killed unionists at a demonstration the day before. Police were looming and oppressing as per usual when an unidentified anarchist threw a bomb at the cops. This went badly for everyone. Innocent people were killed. Some were later executed by the state after being falsely convicted …but oddly this helped change public opinion in favor of workers and afterward, and led to May 1 being identified as IWD going forward.

Legitimate, adj: Being exactly as intended or presented : neither spurious nor false. — I don’t think that applies to anything crypto.
A very sad tale of G Love who lost 424,000 of his life savings after downloading a “fraudulent app that appeared to be legitimate” to something crypto. G Love is seen here playing guitar and harmonica and looking downtrodden. A reminder to stop playing with fake money.

DeBlasio, when reached for comment, replied …. theonion.com/de-blasio-we...

De Blasio: ‘Well, Well, Well, Not So Easy To Find A Mayor That Doesn’t Suck Shit, Huh?’
NEW YORK—Clucking his tongue with mock disappointment, Bill De Blasio announced to New Yorkers that “It’s not so easy to find a mayor that doesn’t suck shit after all, huh?” during a press conference Tuesday. “Hey, you all gave it your best shot, but it looks like it’s a little harder than you thought to run a candidate who won’t be a national fucking disgrace, doesn’t it?” said De Blasio, smirking as he suggested that the voting public had perhaps gotten a little too big for their britches at the prospect of electing someone who would amount to more than a constant source of embarrassment for the city at large. “But, no, really, I hope you have a goddamn blast with Eric Adams or whatever asshole you end up going with, and I’m sure you’ll knock everybody’s socks off with some really incredible candidates during the next election cycle. Just goes to show that it’s not so easy to find someone who isn’t a total dickhead hated by everybody.” At press time, De Blasio had issued a joint statement along with Mike Bloomberg and Rudy Giuliani that consisted of them loudly laughing for 10 straight minutes.

I created a little table of day of the week with US rhetoric against Iran and market reaction. It's almost like there's a tradable pattern here, kids. Talks monday - markets hopeful, threats Tuesday, escalation Friday - Sunday daily/futures markets fall.
Table tracking Trump's Iran war rhetoric (escalation vs. de-escalation) and U.S. equity market reaction across 6 weeks (Feb 28–Apr 7, 2026). Rows = days of week. Columns = weeks. Each cell shows conflict direction (✈️↑ escalation / ✈️↓ de-escalation / ✈️→ neutral) and market reaction ($↓ equities down/oil up · $↑ equities up/oil down · $→ mixed/flat).
Key patterns: Friday is the only day with a perfect 6-for-6 escalation record — every Friday produced an escalation signal and a down-market reaction without exception. Saturdays followed the same pattern in weeks 1–5 before going neutral in week 6. Sundays were escalatory in weeks 1–3, shifted to de-escalation in week 4, neutral in week 5, then returned to escalation in week 6 (Trump's "Power Plant Day / Bridge Day" civilian infrastructure threat). Mondays showed the most variability — alternating between escalation and de-escalation signals — and were the only days to produce a positive market reading (week 6, S&P +0.4% as markets began discounting Trump's deadlines as performative). Mid-week (Tue–Thu) was mixed across weeks, with escalation dominant in weeks 2, 4, and 5. Week 1 (war's opening days) was notably calm mid-week before Friday's shock. The overall pattern confirms a recurring weekly cycle: mid-week diplomatic signals stabilize markets briefly, Friday–Saturday rhetoric resets to maximum pressure, Sunday reloads the cycle.

Weird that Trump said he’s going to destroy civilization on … oh wait, Taco Tuesday. Just wail til “no deal” Friday when he doesn’t care what the markets do for 2 days. You know. This is a weekly pattern right?
