For example: What level of life intervention each person is allowed to do when you can't respond for yourself. Do you have a person who can act as your patient advocate if you need to go to the hospital. Even if you can respond for yourself, I find that hospital outcomes are better with backup.

You do your best to keep yourself from that state, but always have an emergency plan in place with friends & family if you do end up getting into a life-threatening state. Action plans help keep everyone calm and improve outcomes in and out of hospitals.

Any chronic illness requires regular life adjustments. Just be forgiving of yourself every time you get a set back. It isn't your fault, just your body being cranky again. Sure there are things you can "manage" to minimize crankiness, but that may require several changes over the decades.
