Hi, my name is Lyra Evans, and I’m running for city council in Rideau-Vanier! Due to the importance of social media as a means of communication, for the duration of the campaign I will be reviving some erstwhile dormant social media accounts to provide updates and take questions from the public.
"Lyra Evans for/pour Rideau-Vanier. Oct 26, 2026. 2026 Ottawa Municipal Election. L’élection municipal d’Ottawa 2026".

Hello everyone, the forecast model needs more work at this time. That means we have to cancel this week's release. The next forecast will be available in two weeks.

I went to find out if Krelim is just a different spelling of Kremlin, or something I didn't know about, and apparently it's just a typo, but it shows up more frequently than I would have thought 😆

As I said when I posted the article, the title is misleading, it doesn't actually say the airports are going to be sold, and he's not saying it now. It's going to be a leasing/management deal, where the government keeps ownership. They won't be fully privatized (like some other Canadian airports)

It's not a push for an election, it's part of the way they're planning on generating money to inject into the Sovereign Wealth Fund he's been talking about for months. They aren't being sold, they're going to be leased to different orgs (for-profit) than they're currently leased to (non-profit).

Yeah I collect the provincial wastewater data, and BC has definitely started a wave several weeks ago, the wastewater has been steadily climbing for over a month. It's nowhere near winter wave levels yet, but it's not that far into the wave yet, either.

I can't believe I'm saying this in response to a Trump statement, but to be fair there is a 0% chance of Trump surviving, much less pulling off a rescue like that. So it would have been wise of him to not attempt to do it (as there would then be 2 people to rescue, making the situation worse).

I have to cross the St Patrick/Cumberland intersection several times a day. At least 75% of drivers (probably closer to 90%) turning left onto St Patrick (it's one way) don't properly turn into the left lane like they're supposed to. They either straddle them or fully turn into the right lane. 3/3

Brittany @battlingbeaver.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
It is, in fact, rare for a day to go by where I don't have to walk outside of a pedestrian crossing because a car at the intersection has parked their whole ass over it. Meanwhile, I can count on one hand the number of bad experiences I have with cyclists per year. 2/3

Brittany @battlingbeaver.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
As a pedestrian, I am far, far more likely to be endangered by a car because they're driving carelessly/dangerously than with a cyclist riding carelessly/dangerously. When I first moved to Ottawa, I quickly stopped riding downtown after I was twice forced off the road by cars "passing" me. 1/3
