I'm a good way into the second part of Three Houses (on Claude's path), and, overall I'm enjoying it, but it's made me appreciate Fortune's Weave more. Particularly the way the three different acts play slightly differently

Reached the timeskip in Three Houses and I appreciate how much quicker I’m at this point than in Fortune’s Weave (even if it’s not quite the same structure), but the stronger execution of it in FW set my expectations too high

I think keeping Leda makes sense if put in the context of Bertrand's route likely requiring the most unique content out of any route. Therefore he's first in line for getting cut and with him gone you need someone else to touch on his story otherwise you'll have even bigger holes in the narrative.

Think one of the many things that makes FW difficult to evaluate is it is at once far too long and also glaringly incomplete. The seams from the (eminently sensible) decision to cut the Flame Lords down from 8 to 4 are so visible

Early Three Houses thoughts: I like that the equivalent to the tournament teams are more clearly laid out from the start (it took me a while in FW to twig that lots of potential recruits were narratively tied to other paths), but I miss playing as actual characters instead of a blank slate

A 2012 patent from Sony where you have to yell the name of the company to end the commercial early. The patent illustrates a figure sat on a sofa watching a movie until it’s interrupted by a giant hamburger, the figure then stands up arms in the air and shouts “MCDONALDS!” before sitting back down again to continue watching the movie, presumably deeply ashamed

One thing definitely not covered in the tutorial, if you push the right stick forward in battle and hold it for a few seconds (there’s a little indicator that fills as you hold it, which is how I discovered it), you get a 3D view of the battlefield.

Finished the first part of Leda’s path in Fire Emblem. Initially started on her second part, but felt the tonal shift was intended for when you’ve done all the character’s first parts. So now I’ve started on Cai’s path, which definitely feels like it’s the intended first path

Been playing Fire Emblem with permadeath on, but I’ve only made one death stick instead of restarting the chapter or rewinding a battle, and I kinda wish there was a midpoint where characters dying in battle aren’t gone for good, but they are out of commission for a set time
