And in an increasingly complex society in collapse, we are going to need more expertise, not less. There's no way that we as individuals can know all that we will need to know to survive the coming years.

I've been immersed in research on Reconstruction in Lousiana and it's a very difficult truth to absorb that the white terrorist movement in the South was among the most successful terrorist movements in global history. Took 10 years but it won a total & complete victory through murder and atrocity.

After more than 200 years, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is coming home! I am proud to have worked with Chairman Rupnick to secure $1M to build a Tribal Government headquarters here, on Illinois soil. Honored to have played a small role in this long-overdue homecoming.

It was built by someone trained by/school of Archimedes. It featured differential gears way ahead of their time, a hand crank perpetual calendar. Abt the size of an old laptop, the inside covers were an engraved instruction manual. I did a lot of research on this thing. Love talking about it.

If you hunt through the code there are some great comments, including this passage from the lunar landing routine that ends with "OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD...". The Wizard of Oz reference has a neat twist: the actress who played the Wicked Witch of the West was also named Margaret Hamilton. (6/6)
A screenshot of code the THE_LUNAR_LANDING.agc. The comments read:
# BRANCH IF ANTENNA ALREADY IN POSITION 1
# ASTRONAUT: PLEASE CRANK THE
# SILLY THING AROUND
# TERMINATE
# PROCEED SEE IF HE'S LYING

“Everyone influences the world in some way. No matter how powerless we may feel, each of us is a creator who continually churns out energy that bends and shapes our world and the people in it.

What is the signature of your effect? How do you change the environments you pass through? What magic, for good or ill, do you perform in the daily rhythm of your life?” - Rob Brezsny

The thieves’ goal, unlike ripping off a painting or whatever, is to melt down the gold and sell it. From their POV, the score (10 kg XAU) was about $1.3 million USD. The objects themselves will never be seen again, a priceless loss.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. As folks gear up for the new semester, a reminder if anyone needs it, my Ai statement is available for people to make use of in their own materials. It’s downloadable and printable from my site here spinweaveandcut.com/fall-2025-sy...
a snippet of a mini-comic, at top - straight line stretches from point A to B. Immediately below, same dot at A, then becomes a curving, meandering line that winds through the page and ends at a point with rays and a question mark emanating from it. Text reads: "Nothing can do this for you - for that robs you of experience and conflates answers with learning. Rather, it's all the decisions you make along the way, the mistakes, struggles, and surprises! These pathways you create - this is learning.

In my problem solving seminar, I require a linked portfolio, with each piece (map, bibliography, presentation, white paper) all have to support each other’s content. Oh and the whole thing is based on your personal values, which you will be explaining in the presentation. So, that’s my strategy.

"In other words, the people who are the most 'polarized' in the U.S. electorate are those who are racist and sexist, and those who oppose racists and sexists."
Screenshot of article which reads: These numbers are relatively similar between Democrats and Repub-
licans, which often leads political pundits to claim this is more evidence
of “polarization,” and that both sides are equally to blame. However,
a closer look tells a more interesting story. The people who are most
likely to vilify and dehumanize their partisan opponents are Republicans
who are high in racism and sexism and Democrats who oppose racism
and sexism. The people who are least likely to vilify and dehumanize
their political opponents are Republicans who are low in racism and sex-
ism. One explanation for these patterns is that those Republicans who
are racist and sexist vilify and dehumanize Democrats because they see
the Democratic Party as a party of racial minorities and women; and
Democrats who score low in racism and sexism will vilify and dehu-
manize Republicans because they consider Republicans to be racist and
sexist. In other words, the people who are the most “polarized” in the
U.S. electorate are those who are racist and sexist, and those who op-
pose racists and sexists.
