Call Congress And Tell Them To Vote NO On Kids Act This Monday 6/29/26
KOSA has been put in a package called the KIDS Act, which has 19 bills (a majority which are age/identity verification bills). It's being voted on in the House on Monday at 6:30 pm.
Call 202-224-3121 and ask them to connect you to your Congressperson.
After you make your call remember to post about it here on X (and other social media). Include a link to this article in your post to share the information they'll need to make their call. Tag @OrwellDay if you want to help grow our movement.
Here is a phone script you can use when calling:
"Hello, my name is [Your Full Name], and I'm a constituent calling from [Your City/Town and Zip Code]. I'm urging Representative [Last Name] to vote NO on the KIDS Act, H.R. 7757, scheduled for a vote this week.
While the bill claims to protect children, its 'knows or should have known' standards for applying special rules to minors will pressure every online platform to verify or estimate the ages of all users through IDs, biometrics, or behavioral tracking creating the infrastructure for widespread age checks that could evolve into a centralized digital ID system required for basic internet access."
"This pathway risks normalizing constant surveillance and data collection on every citizen's online activity. It threatens our privacy, free speech, and constitutional rights by turning the internet into a monitored space for everyone, not just kids. Please vote NO to stop this dangerous precedent.
