A really, really horrible attack (by a man, using a SUV) on one of the greatest advocates of community power and equitable climate action in Australia this morning. She's in a critical condition in a hospital in Melbourne and I'm hoping for a swift recovery. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...
One of Australia’s greatest energy justice advocates has been subject to what is reported as a ‘targeted attack’

At the time of writing, she’s in a critical condition after being rammed by a 43 year old man, using one of Australia’s many oversized and deadly SUVs.

She has been fighting hard to ensure the benefits of renewables flow directly to the communities that host them, recognising that as the most crucial change that must occur. Too few get what she gets.

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery; Australia (and Australia’s stumbling climate action) needs people like Helen more than ever.
