Check out this super old and haggard log! I bet it's been stuck on the bottom of the Ottawa River for dozens of decades. It's been pushed and pulled for several winters. The second photo shows some of the grinding it has gone through. I bet it has a few stories

Washed up log on the shore of the Ottawa near Remic Rapids on the Ottawa side.

Close-up photo of said washed up log showing scars of grindings perhaps from hug-sized rocks or other logs. It's been river whittled!

@ologies.bsky.social thinking of you while I spend some quality time with these old ladies along the banks of the Ottawa River. You may not know but I invited a few sticks to come to my place and they said "yes, but please respect me." I agreed to their demands.

Spending quality time with these old ladies means a photograph of a copse of weeping willows on the banks of the Ottawa River, capital side. Their leaves are beginning to change.

Twiss’ arm is extended and grasping several long and thin discarded brown and yellow willow sticks with a fuzzed-out Ottawa River and Québec in the background.
Twiss asks the sticks, "I would like to invite you, fallen Weeping Willow sticks to be braided or woven into a trellis to help my indigenous plants grow in my garden. May I take you from your mother trees and come home with me?"
"Yes, we will help our friends grow!”

Twiss secretly wants the sticks to turn into roots and grow into big fat glorious trees but she's renting and won't piss off her landlord.

This is a photo of one of the mother
weeping willow trees. It's the latest of September and the leaves are beginning to turn yellow. After a solid rain, I suspect they'll turn completely then fall within a week or two.

Every 12 - 24 hrs, or so there's soon crossover, one fairly new Bluesky "profile" likes 3 of my posts. In the last three days I've had 9 profiles like these posts, not any are replicated. It's a weird coincidence or a bot.

As a duocitizen Can/US, I'm encouraged to register for the 2026 primaries. I'm a chronic voter. I know how important it is to exercise my vote. But it is really hard these days to believe mine will count, and I bet many US voters feel the same way. I will vote, kicking and screaming, but I'll vote.
