I'm honestly quite surprised they didn't do a "daily seeded run" with leaderboards or something, i think that would've been neat. but there's already SO much to do in the game so I guess it's not NECESSARY still wouldn't been cool though... it might've made me use the skulls more!!

finally rolled credits on hades 2, SUCH a fantastic game,, I've played so many great games this year but hades 2 still stood out as nearly perfect my only issue was the skull weapon, i REALLY don't like it but chronos was so good that it balances out,, i love that guy

"Architectural neoplasm" is a phenomenon where buildings, without apparent cause, start spreading outwards uncontrollably. If the growth is not quickly excised, it destroys the surrounding environment. While initially rare, this is starting to happen frequently to data center construction projects.

A green and serene valley is being overtaken by a gigantic, nearly organic looking building. It has flat ceilings and rows of ventilators like those of data centers, and it juts out at strange angles to cover the land around it. The terrain below it is becoming dry and barren.

so I entered my game "an unplayable game?!" into the serious play awards this year (unfortunately didn't win anything, I'm still an award-losing game developer) and they sent me feedback from the judges! shoutout to this person who very clearly did not figure out how to beat the game #gamedev

Judge's Comments: well, the intend of the game does make it very challenging. you quickly learn what it is like to play an inaccessible game. hard to make progress. but that is the point. what would make this better is some sort of help after several attempts explaining the problem, offering a solution, and allowing for progress. while intended to show frustrations of inaccessible games, there should be away to move forward more easily after the point is made.

it's been said before but aliens fireteam elite 1+2 have some of the best buildcrafting in the business if you like aliens or buildcrafting i wholeheartedly recommend the sequel!! :) if you look up build guides for games like this then i would instead recommend some shameful self reflection :(

i played ROOT for the first time last night, and WOW. it's so good, the asymmetrical design works so incredibly well and it's MOOT ACTUALLY THAT HARD to learn how to pay a faction!! I was expecting hell but the tutorial booklet was such a great inclusion i was woodland alliance :) fight the power!

In the next version of the itch app you can... make your itch games show up in Steam 😅. This has been a long outstanding request that should make it easier to play your itch games without having to change apps on Steam Deck or Big Picture mode

this week, i spent nearly 30 HOURS building the playable area for my next game (a tribute game for my childhood dog, who passed away earlier this year) and that feels like a HUGE amount of time, but i'm okay with that, bc i really wanted to get it right. and i havent even added props yet! #gamedev
