Screenshot of a steam review by me: This game is like petting your brain. Delicious sound design, hypnotising music loop, moody broody aesthetics, and of course the all important Number Go Up.

I can't recommend this enough. The gameplay absolutely sucked me in, and is very well crafted to trick you into learning and growing without getting too beat up. But don't get me wrong, there is PLENTY of consequence—choosing a bigger fight to satiate your greed can be absolutely harrowing, and learning opponents quirks is both a delight and a terror. Their designs are brutally endearing, and their abilities vary from violent torment to an absolute pleasure to battle.

I have definitely only scratched the surface of Fruitbearer, and I intend to dig much, much deeper.

was working on this in like 2020 based on experiences breaking down fighting game mechanics when mentoring ppl started improving the art for it, but got discouraged when I found out about Shogun Showdown I'll probably still return to it at some point (also there was multiplayer) #gamedev
