The #25Amendment won't be used to remove Trump today because the VP & Cabinet has to do it & this Cabinet won't act. We need to update the law to involve Congress, like Raskin tried In 2018. See this Madam Secretary episode in 2018 that explained what has to happen crooksandliars.com/2018/01/tuto...

Can we use the #25Amendment to remove a President? My friend Barbara Hall @babstobritches.bsky.social produced this Madam Secretary episode in 2018. It explained what has to happen & who has to do it. @raskin.house.gov tried to update the law, but it failed. crooksandliars.com/2018/01/tuto...

Whether it’s Joe Biden sending hurricane relief funds to rebuild red states or Donald Trump sending Marines and masked federal agents to terrorize blue states, both presidents have reached beyond their political bases.

Orwell feared those who would ban books. Huxley feared that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Huxley's prophecy is closer to modern dystopia.

Yes, crypto is a climate disaster and preys on the financially illiterate. But at least it's allowed Kim Jong-Un to steal the equivalent of $6 billion to spend on his nuclear weapons program.

You will read countless times today that the LA mayor cut the LA Fire Department's budget by $23 million. That is a lie. The budget was actually *increased* by $50 million.

I don't know if the LA fire department is properly funded or not but the claim that the city cut its budget last year — which is circulating widely on the right — is false. As Politico notes, the budget actually INCREASED by $50 million. A portion of the funding was approved in a separate bill.

That assertion is wrong. The city was in the process of negotiating a new contract with the fire department at the time the budget was being crafted, so additional funding for the department was set aside in a separate fund until that deal was finalized in November. In fact, the city’s fire budget increased more than $50 million year-over-year compared to the last budget cycle, according to Blumenfield’s office, although overall concerns about the department’s staffing level have persisted for a number of years.
