Regarding healthcare, the evidence is overwhelming: race & ethnicity are associated with differences in quality of care people receive & in their health outcomes. Regardless of whether anyone is being racist, it is clear that people receive worse healthcare due to their racial or ethnic background

Study after study from different countries has found that patients from minority ethnic backgrounds are frequently required to demonstrate higher levels of pain before receiving treatment, and are often given less effective treatment even when their pain is acknowledged.

An injection (CAB-LA) given every other month to prevent HIV is to be offered to patients on the NHS, aimed at ending new HIV cases by 2030 in UK. Meanwhile, early results for a different injection called lenacapavir suggest it may even be possible to move people on to an annual HIV prevention jab.

A study of 622 patients, comparing oral gepotidacin with the standard treatment of injectable ceftriaxone and oral azithromycin found gepotidacin as effective as the standard treatment at tackling gonorrhoea. Crucially, gepotidacin was effective against strains resistant to existing antibiotics.
