Extreme damage scar through rainforests left by a violent #tornado in Cruce Caballeros, Misiones, Argentina on 9/11/2026. This tornado leveled homes and killed a man north of town, and was accompanied by a rare 60 dBZ debris ball on radar. It was almost certainly at LEAST EF3 intensity. #WxSky

Account of a likely deadly #tornado which struck the New Brunswick, New Jersey area on July 5, 1888. A house was blown down on a farm in Millstone, which is where the possible fatality occurred. Multiple others were injured around the same area as other homes and buildings were destroyed. #Wxsky

Two more #tornadoes in Mozambique both from between February 9 - April 2 2022. The main tornado was an incredible 20.5 km long and 500 m wide at its largest, and a smaller tornado occurred northeast of the main tornado. I had no idea tornadoes were this common in this area. #WxSky #weather

The IF3 #tornado along the Turkish-Syrian border on May 3 this year has been upgraded to an IF4 in ESWD, making it the third violent tornado of 2026 and the first violent tornado ever rated in the Middle East as well as both countries that it occurred in (although the IF4 DI's were in Turkey) #WXsky

Wanted to post on my own account about the work going on @tornadoarchive.com from Blue Ayanami, whose tireless work is uncovering a massive number of tornadoes in the 1800s. For example, there are now 60-70 tornadoes on 4/18/1880 and 3/27/1890, and over 100 (!!) in the 1884 Enigma Outbreak. (1/3)

I measured the tornado's path as being 24.5 km long and around 1.3 km wide at its max. Something worth noting is that some damage from the vortex core of the tornado is actually visible on these satellite images. This type of damage is often associated with very high end tornadoes such as Smithville

If anyone in this area owns a drone with a camera and is able to access the area I emplore them to fly over some of the areas affected by this tornado and share video/photos with the NWS. It would likely help their damage assessment profoundly given how remote some of the affected areas are.

Undocumented #tornado found in a remote area of the Adirondack High Peaks based on radar archives and satellite imagery this tornado occurred around 1923Z on 7/10/24 from an HP supercell. Very clear convergent treefall patterns and velocity couplet confirm a tornado. ALT text for details. #WxSky

Map of the damage path- max width I measured was around 530 m and length is around 2.5 km, or 1.6 miles.
Start- 44.05911, -74.23361
End- 44.07301, -74.20973

1923 KTYX radar scan shows tight velocity couplet over the area where the damage occurred.

Damage path when it was fresh, taken from 7/28/2024 Sentinel imagery

Convergent treefall patterns observed in the damage path on Google Earth imagery (44.06777, -74.21813) confirm the damage path is indeed the result of an undocumented tornado. Comparing this damage with other tornadoes in the region that also happened in 2024, this tornado was likely of high end EF1 intensity.

New #tornado path found in a remote part of southern Africa. Located in central Zambia, this tornado occurred between 1/23 and 2/27 of 2018. It was on the ground for about 10.5 km and only ate rainforest trees for its entire lifespan. 13°38'47.36"S 27°04'08.37"E #WxSky #weather

With the help of new photo material, we were able to upgrade the Ohrdruf #tornado of 19 August 2026 to IF3. This makes it the first IF3 tornado in Germany since Bützow (5 May 2015). Since 2000, only nine IF3 tornadoes have been recorded in Germany. (Photo credits: Stefan Schambach, Ohrdruf)

A few updates: From Sep 2 #ONstorms - The NTP survey team documented an EF1 downburst in the Brodhagen area, and we now have evidence that tornadoes likely occurred in the Bamberg and Tavistock areas. The survey team will be back out investigating these and other damage areas tomorrow. 1/3

An active storm day in parts of southern ON with most damage being reported from about Bayfield to Cambridge. Some of the damage is significant (e.g. barn destroyed). It appears the damage is mostly due to straight-line winds, but it’s possible that there was a tornado or two involved. #ONstorm 1/3

I reached out to the NWS in Albany on the blue bird regarding the second scar.They liked my reply and and thanked me for sharing. We'll see if anything gets confirmed from it.
