Wanted to post on my own account about the work going on @tornadoarchive.com from Blue Ayanami, whose tireless work is uncovering a massive number of tornadoes in the 1800s. For example, there are now 60-70 tornadoes on 4/18/1880 and 3/27/1890, and over 100 (!!) in the 1884 Enigma Outbreak. (1/3)

This isn't getting as much attention yet, but Friday is beginning to look pretty damn volatile in the Midwest (IA/IL/WI) as a huge plume of very steep mid level lapse rates advects northeast on top of plenty of moisture and strong shear. This is a major red flag for areas E of the Plains.

Did PVD not receive additional snow following their 37.9" measurement? Also, Central Park absolutely did – 0.15" liquid worth after their 19.7" measurement at 1 PM. Feels like shortchanging a historic storm for the region should be frowned upon (tell this to DCA observers of course).
