In my youth my doctors said all my problems were due to my weight. Fine, I had RNY in 2018 at 375#. My lowest was 190#, I'm now ~215#. I'd say that's a significant improvement! Still have all the joint pain & health problems tho... 🥲 Saw more specialists, only to hear "pt is still overweight"🤦

Oh yay... Submitted refill #4 of my gender juice yesterday and this morning I got hit with a "your prior auth expired on May 6" email. 🙃 The last time this happened I had to go almost a month without shots while both sides figured out paperwork.

My feet/ankles have been swollen to grapefruit size for 3 weeks, none of my shoes fit. I've run out of at-home remedies that don't cause POTS flares. Messaged my PCP, a CRNP replies "make an appointment". I'm already scheduled for July 28th and I'm on the wait list... CRNP replies "see you then!" 😲

Opened the local paper to see the police chief declared powered mobility scooters w/o an Rx restricted to private property; not allowed on public sidewalks & to be cited like unlicensed e-bikes/scooters. You don't need an Rx to buy a powered mobility aid unless insurance is paying for it...

I made a baby-sized quilt today for my niece. Her shower theme was "punk princess" so I decided baby's first battle blankie needed to happen using only repurposed fabric scraps. Very punk, right? Just needs a final wash & ironing. 🪡: Stretchy soft denim outer, durable cotton fabric backing.

A bunch of well meaning people on other hellsites are spreading the “Canada is donating a US toll free number for LGBTQ+ suicide prevention” misinformation without checking it. Again. Reminder: no they haven’t. The number being shared is a Trans Lifeline peer support number for Canadians.

Clarification: Misinformation About Our Hotline Number

We are aware of viral social media posts falsely claiming that Trans Lifeline’s Canadian hotline number (877-330-6366) is a new national suicide crisis line available to everyone in the U.S. due to recent political developments. We want to clarify that this information is incorrect.

877-330-6366 is Trans Lifeline’s Canadian hotline number. It is a peer support line run by and for trans people. It is not a general crisis line and is not equipped to support the broader public.

While the Trump administration has proposed cutting federal funding for LGBTQ+ youth crisis services, no national suicide hotline has been shut down.

Canada has not “donated” a national suicide hotline number to the U.S. or to LGBTQIA+ communities.

This misinformation has unfortunately led to a sharp increase in calls from people outside of our community, which limits our capacity to support the trans people our line was built to serve. If you’re not trans and have seen or shared one of these posts, we kindly ask that you help us correct the information.
