Of all the things I expected to see in Montréal, a piece of the Berlin Wall in an underground shopping mall was not among them.

An oblong piece of the Berlin Wall, about eight feet high by two feet wide. It’s covered in graffiti, most of which is abstract except for large letters in white reading “EAS.” It’s standing on one of its short ends in a deserted shopping center.

Observations from Montréal: 1] I’m in the neighborhood of two large universities (Concordia and McGill), and if the outfits of the local Youths are any indication, skinny and high-waisted jeans are decidedly out of style. FINALLY. 2] Rue Ste.-Catherine is still reassuringly seedy.

Not much of an update on Iona (photo from a couple of months ago). I haven’t seen more of the seizures, but her balance is still bad, she isn’t really eating, and she’s hiding a lot (the latter two are per usual when she doesn’t feel well).
