Today, I found out that the Department of Defense banned the Well-Read Black Girl anthology by Glory Edim. I was one of its contributors. I'm really hurt right now. So if you have it in you, please buy books by Black women from independent bookstores.

TikTok’s actions this weekend (the Thano’s snap of social imo) is going to cause distrust and confusion with it’s users Meta’s already experiencing that. My prediction is we will enter a new world of social where users use but don’t trust these platforms, for valid reasons.

I love how brands on IG are using their broadcast channels to let their followers know TikTok is back up 😂

TikTok is back but everything is low quality - fiancé who works in IT states servers might not be at full capacity or that the servers are not all in use

It looks like Rednote is on board with the new followers, there’s now an option to translate comments to your preferred language

I WISH. The last time I tried it just felt empty. 💔 oh the days of the feed being so packed you could never keep up with everyone’s posts 😭

Started off this week with *the* stomach bug, red flag fire warnings, the packing/unpacking dilemma of TikTok’s fate, and now a pulled muscle pls send me some good vibes or your pet pics 😭🩷

IMO The next app to succeed will be the one where users feel comfortable to be themselves. Instagram is too curated. YouTube is great, but does require a lot of work. Creator burnout is real. TikTok was a respite from that. If it does goes away, it will be heartbreaking for creators and small biz.

At this time, Duolingo already has 443k followers on Rednote As a brand it works for them because their social strategy is heavy on entertainment and it doesn’t hurt they are a language app - they are an exception to the rule (imo!!!)
