fwiw I think any stab at this has to integrate education amongst artificial entities as well. we're going to need new publishing infrastructure and norms at a bare minimum. aaand it's possible new things (RSI?) change the social dynamics of it all fundamentally. 🤷who knows man it's gonna be wild

so the education system isn't about specifically producing understanding or grasp of concepts, but on supporting whatever activity it is that everybody is engaged in.

one framing I find useful is that if people are doing *anything* then there is a cultural and knowledge tradition around what they are doing, and that they'll have a better time (emotionally/productively/socially) if supported by a "good" system.

i think "basic" education is one problem for sure, but i think we can kinda stumble into something that works there. the kids are going to learn how to relate to the technology themselves. I'm more worried about higher education and professional fields.

I do think there's an economic angle to it for sure, but I think the bigger question is one about social forms and education. There have been very diverse structures of knowledge traditions over the years and things have evolved in response to technology. We'll need new ones!

currently if you publish a standard site record pointing to a webpage, you point back on the webpage as well w/ a html tag, or a special route. On these platforms you can't do that , so we need another method to show the reference is legit then they can show up where all standard site pubs do!

Maybe we could pre-deprecate the methods so they don't just pile up for maintainers, i.e the method would be called like "substack-2027" with the behavior meaning if you're implementing a client after that, don't implement it.

i spent waay to much time on this. I really like the floating screen aesthetic and think I'll use it again but lots of things i'd do different next time: - much bigger screen scale - face the camera while on laptop - write a script lol - maybe cut to phone for a closeup?
