The men who claimed to be ‘defending women and children’ when they were burning down asylum hotels are now threatening to take to the streets to protest the banning of an app that facilitates creation of abuse images of children and women.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Interesting watching @zackpolanski.bsky.social on The Rest is Politics, good first half and then it got a bit weirder in the second half Some difficult questioning from Rory where he didn't seem at all receptive to the answers, and then Rory repeating his issues with Gary Stevenson repeatedly

The Greens don’t believe providing safe refuge for endangered asylum seekers is an “out-of-control” policy. Nor do we believe making life more difficult for those in need is the way to unify British society. Refugees are welcome.

Green party in England and Wales has had near-50% rise in membership since Zack Polanski took over last month The Greens in England and Wales have more than 100,000 members for the first time, the party has announced, a near-50% rise since Zack Polanski took over as leader last month. It puts them on a potential course to overtake the Conservatives and comes little more than a week after the Greens announced they had moved past the Liberal Democrats in membership numbers, getting to 83,500. The truth: we need migration. The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it. Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality. Reject it. Draw the line.

I'm seeing reactions to @eddavey.libdems.org.uk this morning quite funny. People complained about asylum seekers being an economic drain, so Davey suggests we give them some amount of right to work and pay taxes. Then people complain about that. It's like it's not economic concerns but just racism

The UKSC ruling was an opportunity for the government and the EHRC to step up and commit to affirm the rights of all. They've failed on every measure, choosing to peddle hate and discrimination instead. We've heard enough: Kishwer Falkner and Bridget Phillipson must resign. 1/2
Profile pictures of Kishwer Falkner, Chair of the EHRC, and Bridget Phillipson, Equalities Minister, both against black backgrounds, with the text 'We've heard enough. RESIGN' below. Above and below are banners with the Pride flags and Trans flag colours, each with the logos of Liberal Democrat Women, the Liberal Democrat Campaign for Racial Equality, the Young Liberals, LGBT+ Liberal Democrats, and the Liberal Democrat Disability Association, who are jointly calling for their resignation.

I still don't understand why Labour's approach to the rise of Reform is a race to the bottom on social policy rather than an actual Left platform. Heck, even a Centrist platform would be better at this point.
