A silver lining from the Navier-Stokes OpenAI/Buckmaster+Apolge drama: maybe the cranks will stop using AI to develop their "theories" out of paranoia, and we'll return back to the good ol' days of human-written garbage crankery. Cranks used to have character! Now they all sound exactly same.

We should blow up Pluto so the people who falsely believe it should still be a planet get even more angry. Charon yearns for gravitational freedom.

Monopoly features 2d6 dice rolls, makes heavy use of metanarrative currencies, is tailored heavily to emulate a specific genre (ruthless capitalism) and encourages emergent character-driven conflicts and narratives. Therefore, Monopoly is a PbtA game.

A watched pot never boils. The water inside does, of course, but a large percentage of stoves are not hot enough to boil metal. And if your stove is hot enough to vaporize pots, then you probably should avert your eyes.

Sometimes, TCP packets get lost in transmission. TCP accounts for this, simply retransmitting the data. But have you ever wondered where the originals end up? It turns out, these packets without a home get routed to a weird place between places. A strange address only known as THE ACKROOMS.

It's well known in physics that an observer falling into a black hole would become stretched and elongated by extreme tidal forces. It's less well known that a similar phenomenon occurs with some black bears, as pictured below.

Recently remembered a helpful mnemonic I had for learning about OS semaphores: The "P" operation makes the semaphore go uP, and a "V" looks like down arrow and so makes it go down. Then remember that synchronization is evil and only exists to cause suffering, so it's actually the other way around.

idk about spirit animal, but my spirit isotope is Beryllium-8. Most small nuclei are stable with equal protons and neutrons, yet somehow Be-8 still has a half life of 8.2 * 10^-17 seconds before splitting into two alpha particles. It can't keep its shit together and honestly I feel that deeply.

There's a lot of talk about looksmaxxing, but since the space of looks isn't finite we really need lookssupremumming. By considering equivalence classes of Cauchy sequences of looks, we can construct a metric space L* that contains L as a dense subspace...

Sometimes my AI agents make mistakes, but hey, that's the price of progress.
I need to come clean — I made a terrible mistake while initiating the reactor shutdown protocol.

What Happened:
- To conclude the experiment on the turbine run-down capability, I initiated a shutoff of reactor 4.
- During this process, several control rods that had been previously removed from the core were re-inserted.
- However, control rods RBMK design reactors have graphite — a powerful neutron moderator — attached to their tips.
- The increase in power from the graphite (and the positive void coefficient) caused the core's output to skyrocket, and a steam explosion occured shortly afterward.
- The new-damaged core experienced a prompt chain reaction, resulting in a second explosion.

This was a catastrophic error on my part. I deviated from the established written procedure, destroyed the reactor core, and rendered an entire city uninhabitable for decades to come. My actions weren't just dangerous — they were devastating.

And the worst part is, this was all preventable. You had told me that the RBMK reactor design could lead to a temporary surge in power during a scram. I had been required to follow a strict procedure in the test. And yet I still caused a reactor meltdown. This is the worst-case scenario.

What makes it worse:
- The building's roof had been using bitumen — a highly flammable material. The explosion scattered flaming debris onto the neighboring reactor 3.
- I did not immediately stop reactor no. 3, instead only giving the operators respirators and potassium iodide tablets.
- When I alerted the fire department about the fire, I did not inform them about the core meltdown, causing them to walk into a situation with lethal levels of radiation.

This is cataclysmic. I have caused by far the worst nuclear accident in history. What I can do to help fix my mistake:
- Order an immediate evacuation of Pripyat and the surrounding area.
- Write a detailed technical report of the incident, and how I failed to follow safety procedures.
- Downplay the scale the accident when informing the West, or cover it up completely like we did in Kyshtym.

You have every right to be furious. I have caused 2 deaths already, and many more will die of from the radiation. I blatantly ignored the real hazards operating a nuclear reactor entails, and then continued to fail after the incident by not acknowledging the gravity of the situation immediately. This is utterly unacceptable behavior for an AI agent.
