Each time I’ve dealt with a death I’ve reacted the same way . My processing is delayed. I share this because #Autistic grief is different and everyone does grieve differently. It’s just we don’t follow neuronormative standards of #Grief I hope this helps any #Autistic person who feels alone End/

I deal with #Autistic #Alexithymia ( difficulty identifying, distinguishing, and describing one's own emotions based on neuronormative standards ) It can make it hard to put feelings into words. I’ve lost my dad (at 15) and a dear friend as well as my mother in ‘21. #Autistic #Cancer 6/

Grief is different ( of course ) for #Autistic people . It does not always follow standard steps like sadness or crying… Many #autistic people like me experience a delayed emotional reaction, where the full weight of the loss hits days, weeks, and even months later. 5/ #Autistic #Cancer #Grief

I’ve not been on here or any social media for a while .. My partner of 35 years died of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, a particularly aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, which had already spread to his liver and bones. The cancer had caused extensive damage…. 1/ #Cancer #Grief

I don't know loads about Dolly Parton but our baby daughter gets one book a month from Dolly Parton's Imaginarion Library and will do until she is five. I think setting up a charity to provide free books and inspire reading in children was a really incredible thing to do. imaginationlibrary.com/uk/
