Yesterday I decided to get my kid a Kinder Surprise egg even though it's an expensive treat for us. We were buying just the egg and at check out a friendly older dude in front of us saw it and asked if he could pay for it. It was such a small gesture but honestly made my day 😌✨

I work at a school that is a more restrictive environment on an IEP. When students with an IEP cannot be accommodated in any of a district’s programs, they are offered special schools that are not inclusive. Nonpublic schools servicing public school students. Mine is a nonprofit.

Yes and no. I have more adults than students in my class. Some work for my school, some are employed by agencies. Not all have the same training. When it comes to behaviors, Zone Defense isn’t always practical, especially if the environment is less than ideal.

Tomorrow, Princess Leia goes to join her brother Luke over the rainbow bridge. I will be without a dog or cat for the first time in 42 years. My husband told me he’d divorce me if I brought home kittens or puppies. I might break. All my favorite things leaving, though I’m happy for the boys.

This graph is misleading. While the pandemic did see an actual bounce in employment during lockdown, inflation is reported as a percentage each year. The annual percentage dropping is not the equivalent of prices going back down, just a decrease in the rate at which they go up. Look at real wages.

#Autism #ProfoundAutism I think part of the problem is the separation in how the educational system in the US works with autism. There is the medical/neuropsychological diagnosis, and there is the educational dx of 290 (autism or autism like behaviors). You could have a TBI, congenital abnormality.

So my new and exciting brain thing is vestibular migraine. It is trippy. Figuratively and literally. I once saw a dog at the emergency vet who had eaten THC gummies. It was walking at a 45 degree tilt. I couldn’t get how it was standing. I still can’t, but it’s possible!
