A mandatory sensor in every car. If you hoot, your engine gently turns off for 5 min. Hoot again: for half an hour. Hoot again: off until tomorrow. Can we legislate that? A brief pause after an emergency will do you good. If you have an emergency every two minutes, you're not qualified to drive.

Anyway, made an emotional support clafoutis. Recipe in the alt. Go for it while cherries are in season 🍒

* enough pitted cherries to completely cover the bottom of your cake tin
* 50 g butter
* 3 large eggs
* 100 g honey
* 150 g flour
* 250 ml milk
* vanilla

✤ Melt the butter and let cool

✤ Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and the honey

✤ Add the flour, then the milk, butter, and vanilla

✤ Pour over the cherries and bake at 160 °C or thereabouts until the top is golden (mine was ready in about 25 min)

Sargent painted his patrons. To them, the people in the paintings were not strangers, and for today's buyers the point is that it's Sargent. Although William Oxer does wingless pictures too, so maybe you're right 😊

On Midsummer night some years ago, I found myself alone by the water. Pondering the fact that that particular light had travelled all the way from the Sun to the Moon, bounced off, travelled to Earth, bounced off the water and formed a path at the end of which was me. The other pic is Edvard Munch.
