My favorite subreddit is either the cool non-snobby girl ballet subreddit or the murder she wrote subreddit and no other subreddit comes close

Dying to know which Colleen Hoover the woman sitting next to me on the train and taking up 2 seats very aggressively by crossing her legs into my zone while waving her foot around and reserving room for her bag is reading. Oh it’s Verity. Hope she’s enjoying the worst book I’ve ever read

Trump: "When I see that Talafreako in Texas. So he's been a vaygan all his life. He's a vaygan vaygan, I didn't even know what the hell a veygan was. A veygan is vegetables. A vaygan is eating a piece of lettuce all day long."

Is anyone else just completely not interested in seeing super rich Tom Cruise play a caricature of oil tycoon? What exactly is he spoofing in that role?

I was outside Lincoln Center yesterday and vans were parked outside NYFF on Broadway with flashing screens saying Israel had a right to defend itself due to Oct 7. Seems like Naza is getting under someone’s skin a bit

Life riddle: brush my teeth with an electric toothbrush, floss with smart floss, then after all that, when I use the water pik, I’m still getting visible crud out of my teeth? How?!

You may have to wait until they have a vision clinic in Chicago but make sure you’re on the mailing list when things like that go live

atl @atl.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
AND I should add that I do have vision insurance but it hardly covers anything of course, but MusiCares covered the whole shebang basically

atl @atl.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Do you have access to MusiCares? I just got a very expensive pair of progressives for basically free through them

Dead mouse in the building lobby this morning. So tiny. Very cute. So dead. I handled the clean up like a true superhero so that the rest of the tenets didn’t start blowing up the building WhatsApp group and annoy me all day

I spent most of 2008 homeless living off a salary less than $30k in SF. I had no idea there was a financial crisis as I was busy scouring Craigslist for roommates. I found a spot with a couple. The day before I moved in their spot they called me and told me they were being evicted. Moved in anyway

Costs are only going up thanks to wars and tariffs. This is not the fault of the plants. Printing costs are extraordinary. Raw materials continue to surge. Gas! I love physical media and my livelihood depends on it but if you are hoping for affordability due to popularity it is not coming

Material costs continue to skyrocket on all formats. Some think non-majors are gouging on CDs since majors use them for charting purposes. We are all not selling more LPs than we were during lockdown. Not even close. CD numbers continue to grow percentage wise because they’re building from 0

Swans Crossing was around the same time as Fifteen and it came on daily for about 3 months. Less serious, more fun

This poll is extremely specific to my exact age demo: Swans Crossing (Sarah Michlle Geller) vs Fifteen (the show not the band) (Ryan Reynolds)

People losing their minds that NYU owns the AMC Kips Bay space and didn’t renew their lease need a reality check. Leaves your tiny Manhattan neighborhood to go to independent theaters please. AMCs do not need your tears

I have had a lot of weird train things happen lately including a guy with a knife yelling at us but the guy next to me right now is eating cubes of meat and rice and spitting the meat cubes back into the togo container after he puts them in his mouth. It smells awful of course (meat is murder)

Today I saw a video of Israeli settler monsters dragging a little donkey behind a vehicle and brutally killing it and while I wish it had been censored like the news does with murdered humans maybe it’s for the best that some uncensored monster behavior gets out there

I see people on Instagram talking about the flooding and weirdness during storms in nyc and how they’re caused by climate change asking someone to do something! WE ALL HAVE TO STOP EATING SO MUCH MEAT AND DRiVING EVERYWHERE. I know Exxon is to blame but you can still do your part

I thought it was a new article so I was looking to see thoughtful remembrances but then I saw they were all comments from May: www.nytimes.com/2026/05/17/b...

Hayden Panettiere Asks, ‘Is It Any Wonder Why I’ve Faced So Many Real Struggles?’ (Gift Article)
Her mother put her on TV at 11 months old. She lost custody of her own daughter. The “Nashville” star has a lot to reckon with in her new memoir.

Just now reading the comments section from the Hayden Panettiere's memoir article in the nytimes from May. Why are people so awful online? Someone even mentioning that 2014 was also a hard time for Ukraine too, and they wonder if she writes at all about that? Monsters

To be honest the 70mm imax people are not movie people they are people who spend too much money on “experiences” due to marketing and I think that is the main problem. They are usually loud complainers. The actual movie people would never get an article written about them
020
atl @atl.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
It is very nyc specific to idiots who have to see 70mm imax or nothing and cinephiles who see rare reparatory films. I also often cruise up before showtime but q&as and other appointment screenings can be blood baths. It wasn’t always like this. 10 years ago movies just didn’t sell out

*When I was your age* I bought my tickets for shows at a record store & bought movie tickets 30 minutes before showtime w/no reserved seating. Still yesterday I waited in line at Lincoln Square with the most obnoxious people I have ever been around. Convenience and tech reliance has damaged society

Currently on the season of Murder, She Wrote that has a ballet company episode (feat a 2 second interior shot of the Met opera house lobby even though it’s set in SF) and Jessica solving a murder on the set of the Bates Motel house. Is this best show ever or what?
