when you believe in UBI, it's hard to think "wow that disabled person isn't trying hard enough to work" maybe they shouldn't HAVE to work. maybe they should have a role in society that's safe, comfortable, & "productive" in their own way (incl making art, having meaningful convos, learning stuff)

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

🔭 Saw this release from AAVSO - mag 7.3 nova in Sagitta - N Sge 2026 - first found in outburst less than 24 hours ago. This will be an easy target (though a very crowded field) for northern hemisphere observers, and still decently high for southern hemisphere

I hadn't done deep sky imaging through an SCT in over 2 years - before I started dialysis. Wanted to remember the process and get a newer laptop set up for it, so I went with the Ring Nebula tonight at a focal length of about 1530 mm. We'll see how it turns out! 🔭

Proper motion of stars is what rearranges constellations. Precession only has an effect on which stars are visible at different times of the year. It also affects where stars appear in the sky north to south.
