Today I've been adding clip brushes to my Playdate prototype, which are basically invisible walls for the player. In this test I added two invisible walls so players can't get outside the bridge platform. It works really well 🙂

My best advice to anyone getting into #gamedev is to find people to work with, especially if you ever want to work in the industry. E.g. you're a #3dartist, struggling to make a portfolio, stop making art for yourself, find an #indie team, volunteer, learn to take feedback and deliver on time. 🚀

The toxicity surrounding female protagonists in video games is completely out of control and disappointing. It is so much worse than just a few years ago and feels like studios are walking on egg shells. Massive respect to #CDProjektRed and others for sticking to their guns and not bending the knee.

If you're a game dev and you aren't playing games, you'll quickly become out of touch, there is no excuse. Not most popular AAA titles, those are the standard, I mean you need to play the outliers, the innovative, even the bad. I've started playing one free demo per day, it is great, and it is not 😂

The thing that blew my mind the most leaving the US - and why I will never return - is that the UK and EU have employment contracts. Every job I’ve had over here, if they wanted to let me go for any reason post-probation, they had to give THREE MONTHS notice, minimum. Abolish at-will employment.
