David Artiss @artiss.me · 04/10/2026During Banned Books Week, it's worth pointing out that the UK have had 75 books since 1512 (one every 7 years). The US has had 8093 since 1981 (180 every year). And, yet, the US thinks we're the country suppressing freedoms of expression. 1123

David Artiss @artiss.me · 12/09/2026Despite being on the iPhone Upgrade Programme, I've not ordered the new phone. Not because I'm not interested in it, but because Apple has given ZERO information to those on the old programme on how they're supposed to transition to the new one. It's pretty poor support, imo 000

I have a Nextbase model but, recently, it’s been randomly restarting during journeys. After discussion with the AI support bot (I had no choice – don’t judge me!), it turned out that the internal battery was pretty much dead – after fully charging, […] 100
David Artiss @artiss.me · 05/09/2026If this is the only way you can sell your product, you're loosing already. And I certainly wouldn't want to buy them from, either, knowing this is how they operate. 000
David Artiss @artiss.me · 05/09/2026Or another they compare their antiperspirant with a deodorant from a rival, claiming how theirs blocks sweat, unlike the other. Of course, that's because they're comparing different products and the comparison is incredibly unfair. 100

David Artiss @artiss.me · 05/09/2026I'd not come across the Make Waves brand until the other day. They make refillable deodorant and antiperspirant. I'm aware of them because they're all over my Facebook feed, promoting their product via a simple technique - bash the competition. 100

David Artiss @artiss.me · 14/08/2026Which isn’t the point I was making - they used the emergency alert system to tell is not to light fires, but require you to sign up to get a text message that you’re literally going to be flooded. Both are valid warnings but the priority is the wrong way round. 100
David Artiss @artiss.me · 14/08/2026A couple of years ago I was warned a local river was going to be flooded and I should be ready to evacuate. I got that as a text message from the local water company. 100
David Artiss @artiss.me · 14/08/2026Considering how careful they've had to be making sure emergency alert tests were warned of in advance, because of the impact it can have on some people, genuine ones need to be a really, really, full emergency - "do this or you're going to die" kind of thing. This didn't feel like that. 100
