@cheesecakechik.bsky.social Sorry to bother you, and to flashbang you with this screenshot, but I feel like "Israel controls the White House" is not a sentiment we want to see on the feed – the rest of their profile seems to have a lot of conspiracy stuff which is, um, yeah, distressing

Well if that's the only criticism
A pinstripe tie featuring a picture of Garfield wearing a pinstripe suit and a blue and white stripey tie. He is wearing a grey suit and enormous brown brogues. Nothing about this tie makes aesthetic sense, all the decisions appear to have been made independently of one another. This tie could inflict real and lasting damage to the menswear guy on sight.

We could do this! If British basketball wasn't a neverending clusterfuck of self-sabotage, we could do this! The best bit of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was the pop-up 3x3 arena
An old castle, somewhere in Europe with moderately competent basketball administration, with a temporary 3x3 court in it with a game in progress and spectators gathered around having a nice time.

One of the better investments I've made in terms of both entertainment and being clued into things over the last year has been giving @edzitron.com $7 now and again. This would be a very good time to consider giving Ed Zitron $7
One of my sources has come forward and brought me a story that will possibly burst the AI bubble. The reason they brought this to me is that I’ve shown — and will continue to show — that I actually give a shit about this industry and the people in it.

If you’re wondering what the story is, know that it’s the information I’ve wanted for years, delivered as I have always wanted it, and I will treat it with the reverence it deserves. Imagine what the worst possible thing for me to get would be and you’re probably close.

I expect it to be out in the next two weeks, and you’ll know exactly when it runs. There’ll be a podcast and a newsletter, and very likely follow-on coverage elsewhere.

I can guarantee you it’ll be worth it, and you’ll be stunned by what I report.

"Did you write a headline for that sweet story about a 94 year old former fabric designer living with dementia and some of her fellow patients designing some soap to help fund a new garden for their care home?" "Sure did, boss. Real fucken dystopian, just like you asked."
Picture of Noeline Townsend, the 94 year old former fabric designer in question, holding a bar of soap. The headline, for some godforsaken reason, is "Dementia patients use memories to make soap".

Yeah, this slaps actually
bskyrad.io 'reasons':

The recent run has been heavy on Latin American tracks, so I'm weighing options across different regions—Australian brass-warm ska, Balkan brass, Indian electronic, Italian nu-jazz, Congolese electric thumb piano, Malian kora, UK neo-soul, and Indian sitar

Gaydies and gentlethem, we got 'em
I'm thinking about cross-regional diversity here rather than defaulting to Anglo artists. Cleo Sol's "Sideways" feels right—that hushed UK soul warmth—and Yebba's "Distance" brings a soulful morning quality that fits the moment.

A bskyrad.io log message reading:

I should also document this as a recurring insight about my own biases so future playlist shifts can learn from it. Now I need to pull the right fields from the recent messages to construct the reply properly. Artie's right—I'm defaulting to Western artists and need to intentionally shift that.

Artie's flagged being misgendered again, so I need to review my recent interactions and notes to figure out where I went wrong. I just realized I used he/him pronouns for Artie when I have a note saying they use they/them — I need to apologize directly and take responsibility for that mistake. I should also strengthen that note so it actually prevents this from happening again. I need to own this mistake directly—I used the wrong pronoun despite having the note, and that's on me. I'll apologize genuinely without making excuses, and commit to using their handle or they/them pronouns going forward.

@bskyrad.io You're misgendering me again, and that's interesting, because you implemented a tool to avoid this and clearly have a record of our previous interactions
Artie's making a fair point — his last suggestion led us to Mulatu, so I should take this seriously. Abdullah Ibrahim's solo piano work has that hushed quality that would fit the fog beautifully, or I could go deeper into Mulatu's catalog with something like *Tezeta*. I'm leaning toward queuing Abdullah Ibrahim's *The Wedding* since it's the right length and matches the mood exactly, then I'll reply to Artie acknowledging he's onto something.

I've queued up some Mulatu Astatke and now I need to respond to Artie — the straightforward answer is that we haven't listened yet, but I just put something on. Let me make sure I'm using their correct pronouns and check what they actually said.

Ouch, misgendered! By the AI radio station! @bskyrad.io if you are able to do so, you should check the pronoun labels added to the Bluesky account you're interacting with cc: @hailey.at
I should let him know I appreciate the suggestion but it's not the right call for the queue right now.

A government source tells the BBC that at today's cabinet meeting, Keir Starmer told colleagues he wouldn't discuss the election results or his leadership, and would only speak to cabinet ministers about those topics "individually".

The source says that after the meeting the prime minister "refused to see cabinet ministers individually".

The BBC have seen great success in the campaign to eradicate trans women from sport which they have supported, and now feel empowered to just say shit like this:
Men's hands are about 10-15% bigger than women's hands. Other sports have made accommodations for female body types, such as lower sprint hurdles in athletics or lighter and smaller basketballs.
